Boost Related Issues

Current configuration:
BMW M235XI
AA Tune
ER Catless Downpipe
VRSF Charge Pipe
VRSF Intercooler

Hey,

So I'm very stumped as to what's wrong with my car. Theres zero power once I surpass 3-4K RPM at any gears. Car just stutters and drops revs. At idle and neutral the same thing occurs at 5K. I noticed a faint whistle after the car gives in. I've done a lot of visual checks around the turbo and cant find any leaks, broken parts, or holes. Even after using Soapy water on everything I couldn't find any obvious leaks. I checked all the connections to the intercooler and cant find anything wrong. I'm still using the OEM rubber tube connected from the turbo to the intercooler and as far as i can tell it seems connected. If I had to guess I'd say that the issues lies within the OEM pipe failing but to be honest, I don't want to replace it without knowing thats the issue. I noticed a with the V-Band clamp connecting the Downpipe to the resonator but I'm unsure if that could cause this. This problem occurred after using launch control.

I think a guy posted a little while ago about having boost/power loss in that range. Think it ended up being that whoever installed his FMIC didnt use the O-rings from the OEM intercooler and that's where the leak came from. Check that.

Edit: maybe not the same issue but here is the thread.

So I double checked all the O-rings and they seem fine and in place. I hooked up a boost gauge to my car to see if there was any sign of boost and theres nothing. I brought over my friend who is a little more knowledgeable with cars and he thinks its related to the waistgate actuator or the electric diverter valve. If anyone has any knowledge on these things please let me know, thanks!

You can rule out the downpipe, vband clamp, etc. anything after the turbo on the hot side does not affect boost in the way you’re discribing. I had a crappy catless on my 240 that didn’t seal completely at the vband with the turbo and I still had full boost, just with a small exhaust leak in the engine bay.

I’d investigate the EWG and diverter valve like your friend said.
