First BMW - E90 335i

I have always like BMW's. My wife is now pregant, so I decided to get rid of my 2015 FRS, and get into a 335i. After a lot of research, I started solely looking for 2011 335's. I don't plan on modding much but interior/exterior items, so the N55 was more than fine for me.

I was able to find a 2011 335i w/ premium pkg, sport pkg and it also has the performance pack (I need to pull the ugly "performance edition" emblem off the back).

The car has 54k, and was a CPO for most of it's life.

I have had more cars than anyone I know, but I have to say, this BMW is making me smile daily. I've had (9) AE86's, a supra, Sti, IS350, various Hondas and the FRS. The 335i is hands down the most well rounded car I have ever owned.

I made sure to add a 3 year/36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty as well. I have worked on cars my entire life, but know that certain things can be big ticket items, so it gives me some peace of mind.

First plan is to do some service early, just because I am anal like that. It was due for a break fluid change a few months back, and the oil is due in 1500 miles, so I will be doing both of those in the next week or so.

After that, it will be basics.

Lux Angel Eyes to get rid of these yellow AE's
M3 spoiler (can't decide if I want to go carbon or painted, likely painted)
Front Splitters

Once the baby is born and I wear the current tires down, I will look into getting new wheels, and make the current rims "Winter wheels"

Here she is...

Thanks! It feels good to be back in a car I truly enjoy.

I liked the FRS, but it was so bland. Lately I have found myself skipping my exit after work, just to go drive.

It's been a long time since I've done that. The E90 is bringing my inner car guy back out.

Nice pick up. I have almost the same exact car which I picked up 6 months ago. It's a great car, have fun man. With a baby on the way you'll have to get a nice Recaro car seat. My 2 yr old loves his pro ride

It's not the m-sport, just sport package. Confirmed by checking the Vin and seats. The performance pack was added by BMW by the first owner. I believe the performance editions from the factory all came with the m-sport bumpers etc... but I may be mistaken.

Yeah it's a Sport, you can tell by the wheels. As for the performance pack, if it has the tune then the exhaust should crack and burble. I doubt it though, if it was from the dealer it would have the bumper and all that comes with it. But the previous owner could of just had the PPK tune done, I did before I went MHD.

Yeah, I think he just had the tune, black kidney grills and it seems the car he also added the BMW performance exhaust. It's definitely a lot louder than the other 335i's I drove. Some of them had the golf tee mod and mine definitely sounds different. I didn't expect much difference from stock, but was pleasantly surprised at the extra butt dyno feel from the PPK.

Just wait till you get a JB4 or run e85! if you plan on it, makes the cars feel ridiculous

and im a huge fan of the MPPK burbles on downshifts and decels.. those are top notch

I can only imagine. I ran E85 on my STi and it was a MASSIVE difference. The JB4 are so well priced too. Well see how long I can leave it alone engine wise. My wife always gives me crap for never leaving anything alone.

I figure I will do basic services first, a few cosmetic mods, and then I am sure the mod bug will bite me harder. I am still in the honeymoon stage for now

Nice Car. I too just returned to the 335. I had one while I was in AZ - an 07. We used it as a daily driver and when we returned to Colorado I traded it for an X3. Now we traded our 08 Z4 Coupe for an 11 335xi sapphire black w/ chestnut interior, sport package BMW performance exhaust and software tune. It is everything the 07 was. I will be changing the wheels to 193 M Sport wheels with non runflats in the spring.

So soon you will have two new babies - and a great life ahead. Welcome and enjoy both babies!

Nicely done. The fit and finish of a Bavarian automobile is so much better than any of the Japanese vehicles I have ever owned. And there is something that feels just right about BMW's ergonomics. It's a shame you didn't get one with an N54 but the N55 will suffice.

What's the difference? In the UK you either got m sport or non.

US is a little different. I may be wrong (as I am obviously new to the BMW scene) but I believe this is the difference.

Sport pack here is - seats, suspension, wheels.
M-Sport includes - bumpers, and various M accessories for the interior, and a different set of wheels

I imagine the m-sport for you folks, includes the seats and suspension as one "package". I am not sure if they made M-sports here without the performance seats etc.. But I know they did make sport package 335's without the M-Sport bumpers etc.

How weird.

Yeah, we get bumpers, interior, suspension and wheels on M-Sport cars. Anything lower is SE, but I believe you can spec sports suspension here from new.

Nice car though dude. Next E9x I want is a 335

Got it. I believe all 335 and 330 have the same M sport suspension here, we also we have 19's MV4 and 313's.
