smaller power steering pulley to prevent frame contact
I replaced the serpentine belt as preventive maintenance and noticed the PS pulley is chipped, probably due to hitting the sub-frame in a massive pothole hidden during the snow storm a few weeks back.
The fixes as some of you may know are, replace the subframe or grind it down, which eventually I will do when I replace the turbos but in the mean time I've been looking at the pulleys from other BMWs trying to figure if there might be a smaller pulley we can use. Has anybody tried this before? There are plenty of options that seem like they would fit: Stock E39 E60 Last edited by phubar; 04-04-2015 at 11:00 AM.. |

I think a smaller pulley on the accessory would technically "overdrive" the accessory. A smaller drive pulley would "under-drive" the accessories.
