Review on 888Concept Headlight Customizations
What's going on everybody? I wanted to write a review about my overall experiences with 888Concept, better known as Gullit. For the longest time now, I've always wanted to get some custom work done to my headlights but there where only a few companies who specialized in doing so and their prices reflected it. At one point and time, I built up the confidence to actually try the feat myself, but I quickly realized that I'm not the DIY-er type, from previous projects I attempted So within the past few months, I was searching the forums and came upon the thread for getting custom headlight work done, once I saw that I was ecstatic to know that there was an alternative besides spending an arm and a leg from some of the other big wig companies.
So before I jumped on the bandwagon and sent my headlights off, I bombarded Gullit with a shitload of questions on what I wanted, what I thought I wanted, and what I actually have now. I'm quite sure at one point he was probably like "This f***in guy...I swear ", but with the up most professionalism and courteous he answered all my questions and helped me choose what I wanted. So with the initial text and emails sent between the both of us, I was sold on getting my project done by him. After I sent my headlights off and received them back, one of the halo rings had come off during transport. I immediately called and texted him, and describe the situation. He responded with pack them up, send them back, and he would cover shipping on both ends . I was like f*** yea! I finally don't have to pay any additional fees on the behalf of others. Once I received the headlight, earlier this week, everything was in order. I was very impressed with the overall turn around with everything that took place. So finally I got my headlights installed this weekend. At first, my installer was having issues getting everything to work properly. So at this point, I was like...wtf happened now . So once again I hit up Gullit, and within the hour he responded. I let the installer speak with him and based off their conversation everything was corrected and fixed So with that being said, I would highly recommend 888Concept if anyone wants to get some custom work! From the overall professionalism and support he gave this is a no brainer. Here's a few pictures of the whip. I also decided to mess around with vintage gold plasti dip, for the most part it turned out nice. I will be turning my car in within the next couple of weeks to get it painted to match my bike http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1068619

My mom told me if I can't say anything nice, not to say anything at all, but since you posted in a forum, you clearly want opinions, here's mine...
I imagine I could achieve the same effect without the cost by ram-raiding a Macy's display on Christmas Eve. Thanks for the vendor review though. I'm particularly hating the gold grills and hood vents. Hope this doesn't disappoint you, the only thing that matters is that you like it. I'm a black on black person myself, we can't all have the same desires or it would be a dull world. Peace...

Gold wheels, hood vents, and grilles, RGB AE's, red projector lenses, custom "RICE BRNR" plate...
Doesn't all that stuff fall squarely under the definition of "Ricer"? |

Well I appreciate all the negative feedback, way to start off my day lol. Anyways I was preparing myself for the backlash, after posting my car, and I knew that this project wasn't everyone's cup of tea and with that being said to each its own. On the behalf of the vintage gold plasti dip, I was only using it as a means to waste time, while my headlights were getting done, this is by no means a permanent solution. As I've stated before, my car is going in for a paint job next week, so the plastidip is a one week look. Lastly, I bought the license plate mainly as a joke. I normally get one out of three respones. For the average person, I'm asked what does it mean? From the enthusiast side, I normally get a few laughs from it and from the ricer community, I either get a few laughs or a f*** you type of look, in which I laugh it off regardless. So there you go ladies and gentlemen, you can either love it or hate it. In response to the color of my car, I'm getting it painted to match my bike Ducati black and red to include getting my 1M bumper installed, which should match the headlights perfectly. So if that's still too much rice for some then the only thing I can say is...kill yourself! No I'm just playing but on a serious note it's what I want and that's about it...

So the OP can just change it to white or amber when he's driving around. Most people only do vibrant colors at shows or meets. At least that's what I'm hoping the OP is doing.... lol

Well done for taking it on the chin and rolling with it. As for killing myself, if my car looked like this... I probably would.

Sounds like great customer service, and if you're happy, great.
Don't let the haters get you down. I love the sleeper look myself (my car has no obvious indications it's not stock), but enjoy seeing the unique cosmetics everyone does to their vehicles. What a goddamned boring automotive world it would be if everyone drove around in factory finished cars.

Here's the thing. It's your car do what you please with it. It only has to make you happy and no one else. It's good that you are only mildly offended when you are criticized for your styling preference. Personally I think there's just too much going on there. Only a few cars in this world have the aggressiveness to pull off such color contrast and styling. I'm running standard angel eyes. I prefer the clean oem look. I have put about $10,000 into other areas of my car mostly performance upgrades and some cosmetic. That is parts only since I do my own labor including paint and body. My car isn't flashy IMO but I still get tons of compliments. These are great looking cars and really don't need to be over the top to be noticed.

In any case, you said the gold trim is just a bored experiment and will be taken off, why are you getting defensive now? If you took the gold trim off and didn't run the AEs like it's christmas every day, you got a good looking car with nice headlights (I got nothing against demon eyes), no hate from me. So which is it? You gonna keep the gold trim and run the angel eyes like its christmas eve, or you're gonna get rid of the gold and run the angel eyes in sensible colors day to day (in which case, why the defensive tirade?)?
