Need Help Electrical Issue?
Hi guys, I'm new to the forums, just bought a 2009 e90 328i. So far I'm loving the car but have an issue with the drivers side door. For some reason nothing on the drivers side door is working. The driver door speakers, the door lock, master window switch, and not even the light under the door handle. I have searched but have found nothing that was similar to my situation. I have already tried replacing the master window switch but to no avail. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance |

If you remove the door panel there are separate connectors for the light, the window switches, and for the speaker. Either all of those are unplugged or the whole wiring bundle coming thru the doorjamb area is somehow fucked. I would start by taking off the door panel.
Also, there isn't a door lock button on the drivers door, just a little little popup thing on top the panel, that popup thing is connected to a rod that moves up and down inside the door panel. |

I just bought the identical car last month. Mine's Platinum Bronze Metallic. Love the car, still trying to figure out all the new gadgets.

mytrplseven i love the 328i in platinum bronze metallic, it really brings out the headlights and grill.
mike3000fl, thanks for your reply, I finally got a chance to take the door apart today, and while everything was connected, I did come to find water inside the door, not an insane amount but there was water on most the connectors. It has been raining alot the past week but given that the window regulator had rust on it, this has to have been going on for a while. I'm considering buying a new door harness and seeing if that works, but im nervous that all the electronics in the door are screwed or something even worse. Any advice or plan of action? Thanks for your help |

Did you check fuses for at least the windows?
Did you check fuses for at least the windows.?
There is an individual fuse for each door window regulator. As when one door goes out that is usually what it is if the window regulator isn't fried. There won't be any for the speakers. They go directly to the amp. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...,d.cGU&cad=rja http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...83339334,d.aWw http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...83339334,d.aWw Last edited by ctuna; 01-13-2015 at 05:56 PM.. |

After checking fuses, I would buy a cheap digital multimeter and ground the black probe on the car's body, then insert the red probe into the connector and touch pins (one at a time), see if it is getting power on any of the wires, if it is not then you have to trace it back further, not sure without a schematic of what module the window switch runs to.
