Hope the s55 is new base engine. If that's the case will definitely get one when my lease on 340 is up 2 years from now. When does m2 production end??

At least two types of M2 test mules have been spotted lapping the Nürburgring in September 2016 and March 2017:

410 can be had with a $1200 sport cat DP and $300 Dinan tuner or $200 JB+
Not hating, just saying why detune the S55?

A manual CS will be high on my list for my next car.

I'm running 410/420hp at the minute and il be honest, unless they sort the suspension out its not worth having the extra power. On the country roads in the UK the car fights the suspension at full tilt (tune on) and all your left with is the feeling that the suspension and chassis cannot cope with the power, tourque and surface. Even with traction off (dsc still on) you find it coming on for a second and that can also be enough to unsettle the car. On smooth roads it's great, but any bumps and it just doesn't work as one until. Switch back to stock, albeit with dp and intercooler, it's much more compliant. Basically, it's great for the track but not as great on b roads.. Just my opinion

Interesting to know that BMW M CEO Frank Van Meel disclosed earlier this year in an interview that manuals represent ħ 20% of all M2 sales (source: here):
"Q: Do you think BMW M will continue to offer cars with manual transmissions? How long term do you think that will remain an option? So there is hope, especially as a M2 variant with manual transmission has been spotted. Furthermore, also interesting to know:

Honest question - I have a new F80 ZCP and haven't heard of any engine issues.

M2 CS S55 in 2018 is not news, only the exact month is.
Regular M2 N55 is supposed to be getting the LCI later this year. Will it be dropped once the CS is out? I don't think so, but I could be wrong - I'll give this 80/20 chance, basically the same I gave to Clinton/Trump. If there's been a very recent decision to continue with CS only, I won't be surprised if the LCI is also cancelled (less than a full year of production wouldn't make sense). I am not aware of the GTS. |

A CS only offering would also defeat the purpose of pulling folks into ///M...just based on how difficult I am sure it will be to get one, and it won't be cheap.

Only have room for one car - the F80 is it.
Loved the Cayman...but having a P-car is quite the commitment. I was approaching the 20K service, and needed tires, and the quoted prices at the dealer made my eyes water. I really miss the sound of the screaming F6...but the M3 is more comfortable, faster in a lot of typical situations, much more practical, and yes - cheaper. It was a win-win for me. I got to have the 981 for a couple of years, and hope to have another P-car someday. It's hard to beat all the day-to-day value you get from an M3.
