IND reflectors, sport flares & spacers will look nice.

Make sure to do a transfer case adaption reset in ISTA+:

Yeah I'm happy with the newer look .. Now if I can only take a proper pic soon lol

I'm still waiting on the mounting bracket for the Supersprint exhaust tips I have sitting here. When I do that the Aero kit will be installed at the same time. Turner says about another month before arriving from Supersprint.

Hearing about so many bent oem's is why I go replica, figured if I hit a pothole hard enough it will bend/crack either way. If the oem's were bulletproof it would be another story but for now I will enjoy buying more mods with the savings
I agree with the others that those new rims look great! Please tell me where I can get a set!

Ordered "white" bulbs for the angel eyes for my prefacelift. I have LEDs in there but of course only the inner ring is lit bright while the outer is barely visible.

I'm running a staggered 22" setup on my E70 and they fit just fine with no issues of comfort. I personally believe its in the tires because I can't stand RFTs like the factory sets come with.

Whelp this isn't what I ONLY did today, this would be in a few days back to back so instead of posting multiple posts I included all of them in one.

1. I installed new OEM headlights due to the oxidation issue I was having on my old ones
2. I installed wide fender flare kits as I believe it added a nice appearance touch over the flat fender flares that come with the E70 35i.
3. I installed a trailer hitch capable of 6,000 lbs from eTrailer and I'd say that was the best investment having the option of pulling my GTR.
4. I de-badged the car which I feel made the look on the side appear more clean.
5. I coded the new headlight adaptive module which took seconds compared to the b.s. the dealership stated when speaking with me.
6. I installed the new blower motor which my old one was making noise which was an indication of replacement needing to come.

Wahoo! another real tow worthy X5! I regularly tow my 2001 bmw 330i drift car with my X5. In fact, that's what I'm here to post about!

Towed the drift car another 200 miles this weekend, and need to fix a few things early this week on it. Once complete, I'll be putting the X5 back on stands, and doing the big trans service, a guibo and CSB I think. While it's on stands I suppose I'll try to install my rear airbags too, as I think my rear springs are getting a little tired of my towing antics. Can't wait to feel how the car handles after all this work.

I'm also thinking about new tires for the X5, the DWS 06 that came on these wheels are getting close to their wear bars. But do I spend $900 on new tires to weary while towing 2k miles? I haven't decided, but in case I get caught in rain during trip I think I'd rather not worry about my tire tread.

I've done nothing to it. But I'm only a month into owning my 2010 X5M and am loving it. I had/have (for sale) a 2010 535i xdrive with a cold air intake and MHD tuning. Great car but I need ground clearance for winter.

My question is, if you could start over with everything you've done what would be the first thing/things you would do? I was looking at the Burger Stage 1. Cheap for now until I save up for DPs, exhaust and better tune.

I really wish MHD had something for these. I was impressed with everything they had for the n54/55.

I edited this photo of my 2013 X5M while patiently(not) waiting for the engine rebuilder to finish hopefully by the end of next week so I can get it back together and on the road again. It's been a few months and while I'm thankful to have other vehicles to drive, nothing compares to the comfort and performance of the X5M. Hopefully I'll be back in the driver seat breaking the fresh build in by this time next month.

I blew out one of my tires on the highay when a big industrial hose flew off a semi, and I demolished the metal connection on the end of it with my front right tire at 75mph. Happened too quick to react. Kind of forced my hand in the "Should I get new tires now or at the end of the season" question, so I picked up a set of Michelin Defender LXT M/S tires. They look more than meaty enough for all season duty, but after the first snow I'll decide if I want to go for a set of designated snows. These honestly look like they'll get me through 2 feet of snow just fine. They're also SO much quieter than the DWS's, and I knew the DWS's were very noisy tires from previous experiences. Road holding seems fine, haven't hit their limits yet.
Still haven't finished the drift car's fixes that it needs, I'm hoping to have it back together after the next day I can get there to work on it. Hopefully this weekend I can bang out the trans service on the X5, and the CSB/ Guibo+ airbags.

I've rolled past 230k this past weekend.

Right after hitting 230k, I went offroading with a good friend, and his H1 Hummer. Just some light stuff in the Pine Barrens of NJ, but there were things he had to drop into low range, and air down for, that I got up just fine. I was actually quite impressed with what the X5 could get up, in terms of very steep sand hills. We were all impressed. I'm sure the brand new Michelin Defender LTX's helped, but they're still a street tire. It was cool pushing the X5 into uncomfortable territory a bit. I DID give myself a few nice pinstripes on the front drivers quarter, and I'm likely going to try to buff those out at some point.

The Defenders have been great. Near equal dry grip when compared to my 30% thread DWS 06's. Drover through some crazy rain that I would've been scared to drive in on the DWS's but the Defenders handles the water super well. No pulling to either side when hitting a deep patch, and just staying stable through it all. They are M/S rated so I'm likely going to see how they do on the first snowfall, and figure out if I want to do designated snows at that time. Maybe I'll just get a set of chains to go along with them in case I'm ever in a pinch up north... because I suspect these tires will still bring me through 2 feet of snow no problem on the X5. They're also WAY quieter, which was expected because DWS are noiiissyyyy. Overall, I'm impressed with my first All season tire purchase in the last 5 years.

I haven't towed with them yet, which is the only other performance spec that I'm wondering about.

As far as what the X5 still needs- I still have the CSB, the Guibo, and the entire trans service to do including seals and solenoids. Plus the installation of the rear airbags since I don't have factory air. My drift car has been down, and after doing it's CSB, I obtained a MASSIVE driveline vibration that I have no clue where to pinpoint. This weekend I swapped axles, and repacked the CV joint on the driveshaft, and nothing changed.. but through a FB forum someone with the exact same problem reached out to me- Both of our rear DS CV joints had accidentally pulled apart. He found that there are actually 2 orientations in which it can go back together, and he had it wrong, making his CV super still and barely able to move. That's exactly how mine is, so I'm going to pop it apart as soon as I'm out of work to see if I can align it how it should be. One the drift car is up and running reliably and smoothly again, I can finally get the X5 on stands and get this trans serviced.

Time is running out... T-10 days to departure on my 2000 mile tow, and for peace of mind I'd really like the trans serviced before that. Just didn't expect fixing a broken part on the drift car to cause a week long hunt of a vibration.

When the E70 was being released, BMW sent employees to "learn" about the new tech coming intot he new E70 chassis. I got to go to Englishtown and test the E70's capabilities on various terrain, including an ice/snow uphill thing they had built. It was all a really cool experience and we were very impressed what the E70 could actually do. We also did some track stuff with F1 driver's around a track they had newly built. Needless to say we all had fun!

Most of the reason I wanted an X5 was because it had the practicality of an SUV but didn't feel like a boat wallowing in 10 foot seas when you tried to take a corner.

I've taken it lightly off road before, up some pretty steep dirt/mud inclines on a friend's farmland. But the sand really impressed me, xdrive just found what wheels had the traction, and continued moving up the slope. I lifted a wheel at the top, and still effortlessly continued on. I continue to be endlessly impressed with the vehicle I managed to buy for $4300. 230k miles and I'm still pushing the envelope of capabilities in it, between off roading, high miles, and towing at/ near capacity. Can't wait to see how it feel after the trans service!
