2011 x6 vs 2014

Hi guys,

I narrowed my new/used purchase down to a 2011 and a 2014 example. Are there any notable differences between the 2 model years ? Any input would be greatly appreciated

Steve

LED lights were an option and blue painted calipers were standard on the 13-14 E71's. Otherwise, they're very similar. But use https://www.bmwvin.com/ to compare both vehicles.

I was hoping there wasn't much of a difference
I found a nice 2011 x6 and 2014 to buy and didn't want to spend the extra money on the newer year if there wasn't much of a difference.
Thanks DeeO

Don't forget about the revisions made post LCI. It's a great value to know that.

What exactly changed for the LCI other than headlights and tail lights?

'11s build before sept 2010 will not have bluetooth music.

I'm still bitter about it. There are options on amazon for ~$100, but sound quality blows chunks compared to aux.

Grill on LCI '14 is a little wider, Headlights LED, Tail lights, if its a X6M, the hood has the powerdome in oppose to no powerdome on Pre-LCI.

Umm.. that's all i can think of at the moment.. im sure there are some other things, for instance, it seems like 2013 and before have a class action lawsuit for the motor and battery drain, but for some reason my 2014 doesn't fit the class action lawsuit.

So maybe they fixed the issue? O_o;;

Engineering revisions.... most unknown to the buyer...Newer is definitely better... meaning the last of a model year will reflect the best version of a particular model and offer the most.

It is this reason I usually never buy a first generation product until it has matured. I’m a selfish barstard....Doesn’t always work out.... as we also own a 2015 F25.... which could potentially be affected by disintegrating timing chain guides. CPO till Nov 2020..... here’s hoping she BLOWS....

Personally, after living there for a year and a half, I would go newer solely based on three less years on Toronto's salty roads, even if they say the vehicle wasn't winter driven.

I would find it really hard to believe someone in Canada not driving an SUV in the winter.

You never know with Toronto people, some have more money than sense!

Personally if I were to move back there, I would drive my Subaru beater in the winter, to avoid the corrosion attacking my X5M, but I have also seen the comparison of how a vehicle ages in other areas!
