FS: New OEM e70 4.8i/xDrive4.8i Alternator/Main tensioner Pulleys now w/ jam nut fix!
The e70 4.8i n62 has a unique set of pulleys that are different than the n62 cars had. Apparently the aftermarket is not interested in supplying them. The cheapest I was able to find the OEM pulley+tensioners was about $200 combined! I was able to source OEM pulleys for the main tensioner and the alternator tensioner at a good price and am now selling them at $85 for the pair! By replacing only the pulley without the tensioner a lot of money can be saved on these. There is really no reason to change the tensioners given that the pulleys are what wear out. Both pulleys together are $85 shipped. The AC tensioner pulley is $46 The main tensioner pulley is $43 These are the same INA pulleys which were the OEM pulley for BMW. They come with a 1 year warranty. I was NOT able find a good option for the main belt idler pulley but that can be found for about $60 online making it the least important one to source. Any money I make on these will go toward paying off my recent e70 4.8i engine replacement that was required after my engine literally drank the water in Mexico last October... PM me with any questions you have or I have a simple page to order them setup here: http://rbryant.freeshell.org/bmw_products.htm Thanks, Rich

N62 AC tensioner pulley kits with important jam nut fix...
I have heard of people who have had a broken tensioner bracket and now I know why...
I had a belt squeak last week and when I looked at it the tensionier adjustment bolt was GONE! The bracket was held on only by the lock down bolt. If that had vibrated loose I would have broken the bracket or worse. I am sure that I had it tight because I adjusted the belt with the slotted bolt. The locking bolt was still tight so that couldn't have been the issue... Fortunately there is a simple solution to this problem that seems like a design flaw.... I just added a jam nut on the top side. I acknowledge that I slotted the bolt a bit more than I needed to... I will start including a jam nut with the pulleys I sell at no extra charge so that others can avoid this issue. -Rich
