I had this before as well. You'll have to replace the pump. I would not bother doing it the pump works fine and the error is cosmetic. Mine got replaced because of a recall on the pump then the error went away.

I have that same Fault Code:

*JBE junction box electronics
A6D1 auxiliary-water pump
Part # 9292708
Hardware # 02
Variant: 5745

Does anyone have an engine bay picture of where the Aux Water Pump is located?

Thank you handcn, but I can't tell from that picture where the aux water pump is located on the cooling system.
Do I access it from above, or below the engine bay?
Is the a step-by-step showing a zoomed out picture and then guides on where I go?
I have the "BMW-X5-E70-Service-Repair-Workshop-Manual" but I can't locate it in there either.

Pump is pretty easy to replace, pic above is for a s63, which has different bracket. Watch video below, will help you to replace. This is the perfect time to replace crappy plastic T connections in turbo coolant lines with metal T's.

Also just a FYI, the 50i and M also have an auxiliary pump for the aux radiator. This pump is located on the passenger side of the radiator base, you have to pull the fan to get to it. The code you listed is pretty generic so it could be either pump. If your turbo pump has never been replaced, then best do it anyway. Dealer should do it for free under recall

And that's the difficulty. Which pump. But I guess you just start replacing them with new and eventually the fault code will go away.
