2013 E70 X5 M Downpipe Help

So I'm looking to pick up some downpipes for the X5 M. From what I can tell it looks like AR Designs is either no longer in business or has just gone downhill in terms of production and customer service.

That being said does anyone have input as to which downpipes are good at a reasonable price? Have been thinking about Active Autowerke but would like some feedback before pulling the trigger. Also, if anyone has some that they are willing to part with I may be open to picking up some used ones.

These are supposed to fit and are the cheapest option I've found. I'm not sure if anyone is using them though. I haven't done it yet because my wife hates the catless smell. But I really want the added performance and exhaust note...

I strongly recommend that you avoid Racing Dynamics unless you are doing your own install and are VERY handy given serious fitment issues.

[edit] Those VR Speed prices look awesome. As long as they don't have fitment problems like the Racing Dynamics ones I mentioned, I bet it's worth a try.

I happen to have two OE sets I'd part with if you want to try gutting first. The high mileage one (~90k miles) for $250 + shipping.
Post a contact method if interested. Good luck either way!

I went with VRSF, and had to invite the Hulk over to help me force them into place. Once they finally seated, they are fine, but it took a lot to get them into place. I suggest buying the guys used set of AA ones in the classifieds or go with the Ultimate Racing ones...

Definitely not looking to go the cheapest route and would like to avoid any fitment issues so I think the VR and Racing Dynamics ones are a no go. The Ultimate Racing are a good price at $1k - about $700 less than the Active Autowerke which is awesome for the wallet.

They have the option to add the Wideband Bung w/ plug to both sides for only $80 - is this an option worth adding to the downpipes because if so seems like $80 well spent.

Haven't seen/read about anyone using a wide band sensor on this board (for their X5M or otherwise). Presumably depends on your plan, but I'd guess you don't need it as long as the pipes fit in all other meaningful ways.

Awesome - thanks for the info. About to order the Velos Stage 2+ tune shortly and wanted to check if anyone was running a wide band sensor or if there were potential benefits.

Now just to decide if I want brand new Ultimate Racing or to grab the AR Design ones that are currently in the classifieds.

I went VRSF also- haven't had time to drop them in so I cannot verify if a Hulk is needed yet or not. I'm hoping not. But the welds seem pretty good as far as fabrication.

I also didn't want to drop a kidney for the other higher ///M tax pipes...

I wrote AR earlier, my apologies... they are Active Autowerk ones in the classifieds. I added the link in my post. Keep us posted what you decide. I'm thinking of picking up the UR ones as well to replace the VRSF. I'm also running the Velos 2+ tune.

Going to pick up the AA ones from the classifieds. Too good a deal to pass up. Will let you know my impressions when everything is installed and I've had a chance to test it for a bit.
