2011 X5M drivers seat issue

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a pretty much fully loaded 2011 X5M.

It has the Climatised Comfort seats, heated, electric, memory, lumbar support.

I am not in the position of asking the previous owner if the problem has been there for a while so I will have to start troubleshooting myself.

Issue: Seat has full functionality, no error codes in ISTA/INPA. However it only functions for about 60 seconts after I turn the ignition on. Then it goes completely dead regarding movement but the heating and cooling works.

I have swapped the seat module from the passenger side (which is identical as the passenger seat also has all the same functions). The problem still persists.

Any ideas what could be causing this timeout? Since there are no error codes it could be wiring related or possibly a grounding issue?

I did notice that the trim panel which covers the drivers seat modules was missing, so it is indicating to me that someone has been trying to resolve it.

I have used ISTA to do a seat reset, but it didn’t change the timeout issue.
