GT5 Car Trading Thread

I think the gifting feature in GT5 is pretty awesome and we should be taking advantage of it. There are some other playstation forums with threads similar to this, but I trust bimmerpost members a hell of lot more than some punk kids on some random gaming forum.

Post the car(s) you are in search of, car(s) you are willing to trade, and the terms of your trade.

I'm going to update this initial post with trader feedback scores so we know who it is safe to trade with. Once a trade has been completed, please post a +1 or however many successful trades and the person's bimmerpost and PSN screenname. Similarly, if they screwed you over, post their name and a -1. No car/item for actual cash trading allowed here.

Format:
(bimmerpost SN) ~ (PSN SN): +(positive trades) / -(negative trades)

1trip5 ~ alexsgaxe: +1 / -0
GregTheStig ~ atomicjellyfish: +1 / -0
blue2fire ~ blue2fire: +1 / -0
Freakazoid: +0 / -0
Crisp: +0 / -0
udubBadger ~TsxBADGER: +1 / -0
Brad@PSI MOTORS ~ racefan_N54: +0 / -0
- Paul - ~ soggyshoe: +0 / -0

Some people have reported losing cars over the network. Make sure when you gift a car that you are in the community section, you have selected the intended recipient, and you gift from that screen. Do NOT gift from your own garage in the GT Life section as you cannot tell if you are connect to the GT servers and stand the chance of losing that car forever.

Happy trading!

Keep in mind guys, there is still a 1 car per day limit in the game. If you try doing it more, the car you are trying to send may vanish. So trade at your own risk.

I'll go first. I need a loaner formula car to complete the formula races. I'll return it immediately after completing them and with fresh oil ; )

Well I've got all the cars I need to finish up, but I wouldn't mind loaning out a few cars.
The only car I'm not ready to loan out yet is the Formula GT, I still need to get good at it for the championship with it

alright i've finished everything but the endurances and the gran turismo races. soon i should be able to just start giving away the cars. start formulating what you want and I can give it later.

It cannot be a car that I can't easily replace (i.e something that can't be bought at a dealership.) I have the cash to buy any car.

Once I get everyone to level 40 I'm just going to start giving away all the cars, I'm getting there now.

I have a 2003 BMW M3 GT-R that I just won but I really wanted the CSL...
Would you consider a trade?

M3 GT-R is fully tuned but no restoration done. Engine needed about $150k and body needed about $100k.

How did you get the CSL btw?

I'd love to get an F1 car if you have any to spare Mr. Baller. lol

I like the Gran Turismo F1 even though it's the cheapest... I just can't save up $4.6 mil that easy yet. I'm only on level 19.

I thought I read somewhere that there was an e90post "club" on GT5.
Anyone part of it or do you guys have a time you meet online?

I have the M3 GT-R as well, so I don't have a need to trade for another. I snagged the CSL through used car dealership. I've only seen it once, seems to be rare. I really love the CSL but I know it's a great bargaining car, especially on this forum so I'm willing to part with it till I find another in the used car lot. Keep in mind that it is fully restored which adds a significant amount of value to it.

Do you have any of the following?
Acura NSX ’91
Aston DB9
Audi TTS Coupe
BMW Z4M
McLaren MP4-12C
Mercedes SLS AMG
RUF Yellow Bird
Toyota Supra SZ-R

Ahh, I had the Z4M but got rid of it.
Let me see if I have the DB9...

I'll let you know later today.

I want that CSL so bad!

What can you do to it btw as far as power goes?
Can you get it to 600hp?

I'll let you know the current HP and modifications when I get off work.

I believe it is at around 400HP right now.

I've invested about $350 -375K in it, so I'd expect something on that order of magnitude in trade.

I'll keep you guys posted once I'm able to start ditching the cars. Anyone know of a way I can do a dump of my car list?

FWIW as well I haven't even honestly looked at the F1 cars, I'm safely assuming I can afford one (as I virtually have just about the max amount of $$$ you can have). Aren't they completely unusable in any of the races?

I'd like to use them online and just for fun. I'd love to see what times I can put down with an F1 car around the 'ring.

They got for $10-$20 mil usually but the Gran Turismo one is around $4.6 mil used.

@1trip5 I'll make sure it's of equal value. If it isn't I'll tune it and throw on racing slicks or whatever is required to get it around $350k-$375k.

Do you mind me asking how you acquired such money? If you would rather not divulge in public, PM me. I hope my questioning you won't change your mind, but why are you so eager to dump all of your cars?

Well I don't know how you can max out your bank account, but there's a few quick easy races that pay big.

Get yourself a Ford or Chevy NASCAR (or hope you win one by getting all golds in the NASCAR challenge. I got a Toyota) and go do the Indy race in the American Championship series in Expert. It's $117,000 for 5 laps and with a NASCAR you can kill the competition if you know the fastest route around Indy (ignore the driving line). Also there's a Laguna Seca race in that same series I do a lot as well, but it won't be as quick as the Indy race. That's how I make my money nowadays.

Basically just search for a race you can do that pays big, and keep doing it.

I've got 2. 1 is stock and the other is pretty much loaded and I used it for an endurance race. Let me know which one you'd prefer and I'd be happy to loan it to you.

Also as soon as I can win that race series with my Formula GT I'll send it your way. This car is a pain in the ass to drive fast for 20 laps. And of course the AI doesn't make a mistake >.>

Also if anyone needs a fast car for the "Like the Wind" series I have the Minolta Toyota 88CV race car that can leave them in the dust. Plus you get one for yourself if you win it all.

Actually all my cash is coming from nothing cheap or grey, nor annoying. No birthday tricks, no real grinding (other than necessary grinding for experience). No duping, etc etc either

Few key points out of it:
1. Outside of that is just not blowing money (which I think everyone has been doing, which is why everyone is broke). I bought 2 new cars, (and looking back on it, it was stupid, bought the LFA and the Ferrari 92 that you get both as prizes, so I should have another like 2 mill now). I bought probably 2 or so used cars.
2. Level up B spec, these are easy, get good money, and require no babysitting if you do it correctly (overpower the competition).
3. Do the seasonal events (get gold, its not that hard). Get gold on as many special events as you can (I think the Top Gear ones are the only ones I don't have gold) and at least get a bronze on all the special events. I probably have 1/4 gold, 2/3 silver, and the rest bronze.
4. If you really feel the need to grind, do grinding, but I really have had no need to grind outside of grinding for experience.

And as for why I'll be getting rid of 'em? Won't be using them once I finish wrapping up a couple straggler races, I'm going for a plat trophy if I can. Figure I might as well help everyone else out.

If anyone does happen to figure out a way to get a car list dump, it would speed up my 'car removal' process a LOT. The f1 cars, if I find one used, I might buy and give to you, I doubt I'll buy new (at least not yet), as for the 15 mill, I can buy a lot more of other cars .

oh and if you're grinding low level experience, grind the championships, lots more money.

Keep in mind I was loaded BEFORE they doubled the cash. With the doubled rewards, I would be literally rolling in the virtual dough in the same situation
