Check engine light after replacing Upstream O2 Sensors

Hey all,

Recently, I was getting a Mixture Control 2 CEL on my 2013 X5 Xdrive50i. Figured it was the O2 sensors so I went ahead and had them changed out with Walker O2 sensors on the Upstream side. Both of them. Well, now I don't get the mixture control 2 CEL anymore but the following. Should I have gone the BOSCH OEM sensors instead? Is there something I'm missing here? Looks like I'm getting codes from both sensors malfunctioning now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See below.

Like you suspect, I think that most people are going to recommend going with a Bosch sensor.

Both codes: O2 Sensor Out of Range During Deceleration
Bank 1 and 2

I would run Bosch sensors and see what u get.

Garage List
This is just a guess but my experience on the Lexus ISF platform is using Walker O2 sensors had the same issues and the advisory was stick with OEM Denso.

So I switched to the OEM Bosch sensors and all is well. Only problem is that I am now getting the original Mixture Control 2 error. Any idea what else could cause this?

Try to reset your DME adaptation

How do I do that? Also, is there a potential that the problem was never the upstream sensors but instead the high pressure fuel pump or an injector?

What's the actual code you're getting now?

And you may be able to reset adaptation by unplugging the battery for 2 mins or so.

I'm getting 0029E1 (Mixture Control 2)
This was the original reason I decided to change out my upstream sensors.
Funny thing is when I installed the Walker sensors to start, I started getting the errors I noted previously and this one had gone away.

Thoughts?

That shows up as

System Too Rich (Bank 2)

Try to swap bank 1 and bank 2 sensors, see if the code travels to bank 1 (with the sensor).

The sensors are brand new. I had this same issue before I decided to swap the original OEM sensors in the first place.

Is it possible that this has to do with the HFPF or Injectors?

Here is the error I get now. Do you think resetting DME adaptations will solve this?

Did you try swapping the sensors to see if the code follows to bank 1?

The issue was presenting itself before I changed the upstream sensors and I'm getting the same code after 2 brand new sensors. I don't think switching sensors is going to make a difference at this point.
