Question 2008/2009 Used X5 Buying Advice

Hi everyone,
So admittedly I am more of lurker here. I have an 2011 335xi which I bought brand new. The car has 136000+km on it. I have experienced a few issues (fuel injectors, cooling system, SURPRISE ) but nothing catastrophic that has convinced me to sell. In any case I digress..

I have been watching alot of money based YT vids and am determined to pay cash for the next vehicle I buy now. The idea is to keep saving and trading up for eventually an ///M. Anyway I digress!

I have about $10K. I started looking at NA cars BC I wanted to stay away from expensive repairs (notice how I left out the word potential ) BC I know bimmers! But gotta be honest, some are very very ugly I am using this vehicle to commute into the city where their pot holes every. So I am looking for a bit of beast. In any case, the 08/09 X5 still looks pretty good. I have seen them for about $9k to $12k. ranging in mileage from around 130k to 180k, which is alot but I am thinking alot of the major stuff around the 120k mark would have been done. Like I mentioned my car is 136k and still drives awesome..way better than my friends 2016 428i (drives like a Honda )

So a few questions..

1. I am looking at 4.0i V8, how the 3.0D's drive?
2. Is there any comparison chart I can reference to show me the key differences in the models?
3. How bad is the V8 on gas?
4. Is there any other vehicle you would recommend? I am looking for something that is got some power, no RAV4 or CRV's

thanks for your feedback!

The safest bet is a 2011+ 35i. It will be the same experience as your E90. It also gets the 8 speed transmission which makes the 35i as fast as the older V8s.

For a good comparison chart see the last few pages of the brochure.

Personally the 2008/2009 are too old, to be reliable. Look for something newer.

Being a BMW owner/drive, I know bimmers can be a money pit? Anything specific I should look for that should have been serviced with over +150km?
Am I looking at this incorrectly and should be looking at a "honda"?

I did a quick search in my area. Some decent deals..

Part of my search was for a 6 seat config. Is that the non-diesel model or another one?
Was previously showing up on the 2008/09 MY.

3rd row is an option on all E70s. You can check for options by running the vins in this system. https://www.mdecoder.com/
