Talking BMW x5 New to this forum!!

Hey Bimmer owners!

Recently we sold our old volkswagen sharan in order for a new BMW x5, we have had the x5 for a while (3 months?) but now want to take it further with some epic upgrades!
I know its looks basic, but please comment on what I should do on this new project and recommend add-ons for my X5. Its the XDrive 2009 model if thats helps! It has nothing at all, and hopefully with your help we can make this BMW x5 look better! It's our first BMW we've had and its excellent!

I took these photos the day the BMW was purchased, sorry they aren't the best quality and I can't help the typical british weather in the background <_>

Mine looked the same way when I got it. OEM style 214 20" wheels is a good start, OEM fender flares from the 20" wheel package, BMW performance grills (black), tint the red rear bumper reflectors and the orange front fender reflectors. If that's not enough lower it and Lux angle eyes spruce it up a little more.

The day I got it

With just the 214 wheels added

Lowered with fender flared and 214s tinted front bumper reflectors

BMW performance grills

The rear red reflectors tinted as well as the tail lights have a very slight tint

Here you can see the white angle eyes vs the usual yellow.

I also added 25mm wheel spacers to the back to make it look a little more aggressive.

Other than my stock M wheels, those are my favorite for the X5! Looks clean man! Have you thought about converting the the newer style roof rails that are lower profile?

Wow amazing car! I love the mods you've done with it! I think the first thing I need to do is invest in some tints, and then some side skirts! Hopefully this will be a good project, and with your help achieve a good looking BMW x5

Thank you I thought about it but i doubt I will bother, I think I am pretty much done modding it....I have a modding addiction I am trying to break.

Thank you, one note on the side skirts....I just tried installing a set I bought to replace the running boards. You need to buy the compsite support for the side skirts because the one from the running boards is too thick. Its like a skeleton that bolts on under the skirts/boards I tried putting them on without it and they were super flimsy....

HI,

did you progress with your X5 ?

i've bought the same as yours, except it has already 214s on it.
and i am looking to black it out a bit more.

what you did helps me and the pictures tells me i am right.

did you continue to "black" some other parts ? Other changes ?

And what did you use to lower (make) ?

THANKS

H&R 1.2" kit but it was closer to a 2" drop I think the heavier weight of the iron block Diesel engine is to blame, the rear is adjustable if you have the air levelling.

Sorry but just wondering what do u mean by OEM fender flares?

Planning on getting an X5 for the wife so just making a list of possible mods.

TIA!

The sport kits have plastic fender flares, non-sports have a flat plastic piece. You can buy the BMW sport fender flares and put them on non-sport models.

ideas on suspension drop

where did you go to get your suspension insatalled? how many hours and how much did they charged? I was contemplating between dinan suspension or h&R suspension with 2" drop in the front (will this clear 22" wheels?) and 1" at the back. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks Sylvan!

Do u have any pics showing the difference between one that has these flares and one that doesn't? Just a little confused... :

I got mine done at ECUProgram in Calgary I think it was about $500 to instal them...I can't recall if that's including alignment. I still have the H&R springs in my garage if your interested they are the same ones from the pictures. I ended up buying an X5M so I put the diesel back to stock for my wife to drive. They cleared my 22" wheels no problem. I would sell them for $200

With 22s
