He would probably be changing out the trigger group to a Huber, Tubb, or Timney trigger anyways, so no worries.

Fair point, but as most of us do, we tend to shoot whatever we bought fairly quickly - usually before modifying it. So on the off chance there is an AD, I figured I might as well give forewarning to anyone who owns one.

Very smooth. Delicious and easy drinking for an older scotch. Goes well with a medium bodied cigar.
A few women I drink with have no problem with it either!

Right now, Maple Crown Royale. Everytime its like the first time. Soooo good. Also really like the Apple one (maybe too sweet for me), but the Crown Royale Rye takes the cake.

It's wonderful stuff... but at more than $200 USD for a bottle, it's been several years since I had it on my shelf... and then it was a gift.

When I first met my wife, she said she didn't care for Scotch (and port), so I set out to win her over. I lined up a half dozen Glencairn glasses ranging from a mild Highland (Glenmorangie), through some Speysides (Aberlour and Macallan) up to a peaty Islay (Lagavulin 16).

She still thinks Islays taste like dirt, but she's a big fan of Speysides and thinks Highlands are for lightweights.

We were in Paso Robles a couple of weeks ago and the restaurant had Portwood on the menu for $19 a glass. My wife cringed at the price because we have so many good bottles of Scotch at home, but I promised it would be a treat and the price was a bargain. Unfortunately, the bartender came out and apologized that they no longer have it. It seems the liquor distributor gave them a bottle when they first opened more than five years ago, so they put it on the menu... but that first bottle was never replaced. He gave us a couple of complimentary glasses of Balvenie Doublewood instead.

That's a very nice price for it. Hell, I've seen Macallan go for $20-$25/glass.

If we make it to Binny's tomorrow, I'll have to see if they have the Portwood and how much it is. I like the Caribbean Cask, but even that is a bit pricey for me. I can afford it, but I'm not sure it's worth the premium over less expensive stuff.

Binny's was out of my Plantation 20 today. Argh. So much for 15% off. But they did have my Gentleman Jack 1.75L on sale for $45, so with the 15% off coupon, it came to just $38/bottle, which is what I pay locally for the 750ml bottle. Of course I bought 2 of them. I also grabbed another bottle of the Plantation Pineapple.

They had The Balvenie Portwood 21 in a locked case. $229/bottle. Yikes.

A third of a fifth is a fifteenth.

A non existent measurement. Before the Euros owned nearly all of the liquor distribution business, a fifth was a fifth of a gallon, aka 757mL. But now we get what's called the Metric Fifth, which is 750mL, the standard bottle for liquor and wine throughout the world.
