Just wish I had room for a spare to get rid of my RFTs. They are the pits up here in Westchester County with pitiful roads. Still thinking about ditching them and just riding around with a repair kit and having AAA membership

Strange mine has a spare under the rear trunk cover, so there maybe a trunk insert you can buy that will accommodate a spare. I have an X5M with run-flats and a spare.

Are you the second owner? The X5M did not come with a spare and likely the original owner bought one and added it. You can source the spare, jack and tray all separately but its pricey. I dumped my run flats and carry a can of fix a flat and and portable emergency tire compressor.

I have the third-row option, so no room to put in the spare.

I imagine the ride quality has noticeably improved, correct? This is everything I hear, and I'm sick of trying to avoid every bump in the road.

Absolutely!!! The runflats were so harsh and cupped really badly. Put a set of Nitto Motivos on and I love them. Ride is much smoother, road noise decreased by over 70% and she still handles like on rails - rain or shine.

Mine came with new tires that are run flats.
And no spare tire space because of the third row.
I just ditched the run flats on my e91. They are awful.
A shame the tires on the X5 are new. They will be soon replaced.
Around town and short trips should be fine. On longer trips I’ll most likely take a spare.
A cheap alternative to third row spare would be a cheap HF jack and a spare tire from an e60 5 series. Spare tires design looks the same between both and one is half the price.
