(Update)BMW X6M E71 - Engine warning light (metall on the top of the oil filter...)
Hi
When I drove to work the other day a "coolant low" message appeared. So to be safe i figured that the best thing to do was to fill the coolant reservoir at work. So i waited a couple of hours, then filled a bottle with water and filled up the reervoir to "min" level. The plan was ofcourse to change the coolant later with the correct stuff. When i started the car couple of hours later to drive home, the Engine warning icon illuminated. Is this maybe correaleted? or just a coincident? I drove my car carefully home and it has since been in my garage. It didnt have any ruff idle etc, drove as normal. Thanks! Last edited by benjii; 04-01-2020 at 11:21 AM.. |

Check your battery voltage too. It needs to be minimum 11.6v cold and 14.6 max, while running.

Update:I may be f****d! This piece of shit engine is ready to selfimplode:P
Today i had the car at an indy shop where a buddy of mine works. From the codes it only shows problem/code regarding intercooler or water pump, i think. This is a mercedes indy, so they dont have the proper diagnostic tools. But the error message was 2F1E: LIN, comunication (charge air coolant pump 2) I think this has been there before. Also, an engine fuel or oil venitlation line was broken off(A line that goes across the top of the engine) so it was replaced with something that fitted. My guy also changed the oil. And here comes the big "oh shit" When he removed the oil filter he noticed there was alot of metal on top of the filter...(no metalic particles in the filter???) the metallic particles seems to be aluminum or something non magnetic. Any guesses of what this can stem from? (btw when he cleared the code, replaced oil, and fixed the broken line the engine lamp went out) |
