the fitment is spot on, the "issue" is with supporting screw that screw the rotor to the hub, in E70 there are 2 in front and 1 on the back, with f85 rotors only 1 lines up with the hole in the front and none on the back.

there are ways around it but most leave it as is, u have a support of calipers and also in my case I have 25mm spacer/adapter that screws right in to rotor, so they not going anywhere anytime soon...
Copy, we can always take rotor to the machine shop and have them make the holes.

It's getting colder and my brakes have been squealing when cold and the wife is grumpy, I'm about to go away from the ceramics for a squeal free ride but need to buy rotors soon also. I was looking a few months ago and found no aftermarket. Checked last night and found that Bendix is making "OE standard" rotors for the M. I even double checked their measurements and it's accurate for the massive 395x36 front rotors. No slotted or drilled and they are listed as "economy" on rock auto... ...I've always confidently bought powerstop or centric rotors to the tune of $95 ea but these things are $53 on rockauto or $75 on autoanything. Makes me think "you get what you pay for."

Have you personally used the powerstop or centric rotors for the X5M? Any issues?

Would love a link/part number to which you bought. I'm in need of rotors soon as well

Sorry, not on the X5M. I've had them on my E46 M3 (centric D/S Rotors and pads), E46 330i (centric D/S rotors and pads), and E70 X5 3.0si (Pwrstp D/S rotors and pads), and pads only for X5M (Pwrstp)

Neither Centric nor Powerstop sell the front rotors for X5M. Odd sizing makes aftermarket nearly non-existent. EBC made fronts for like a year now discontinued. I just found out about Bendix. I was just gonna order to check them out. Only bad thing in reviews is corrosion on the hats, which I would fix with caliper paint anyway. If the Brakenetic set is legit it might be a better option since the hats and vanes are coated already also.

I feel like I must put this disclaimer: I understand it is (or was) a $100k car that I am complaining about spending $1300 just on OEM rotors. "if you want to play you have to pay." "BMW stands for 'break my wallet'." etc.

...I still think it's stupid to pay $1300 for rotors.

I'm super pumped about the brakenetic now...only halfish the price of OEM. They have cross drilled and drilled and slotted and GT slotted along with the normal slotted you posted.

Cannot comment on their pads as I run EBC Reds on my cars. Those are great, and I recommend Autozone online as they always run a coupon. I never go into their stores. Pads are dropshipped direct.

Going to bring this up from the dead as there are a number of new pad options available for X5M front.. I put on powerstop z23 on the fronts and get a horrible squeal when i first back up. They work fine and dont dust but i hate the noise. going back to semi-metallic. options on rockauto are:
1. Brembo low-metalic - never heard of low-metallic $100
2. Centric posi quiet - $38
3. BENDIX CFM1429 Copper Free Semi-Metallic $45
4. BOSCH BP1429 QuietCast $54
5. BECK/ARNLEY 0892008 OE Pads (Pagid or Jurid) $62. - i believe these are direct OEM replacement
6. BOSCH BE1429 Bosch Blue - $23

anyone have any experience with any of these? I am leaning towards #5

I have Bosch on my E71 X6M Euroline or Quitecast... but what I recall is the pads they had for M fronts in their catalogue was wrong...If memory is correct, I think that’s the 1429s... they are not a front fitment...

How have they been, fine...this summer I expect to do a complete brake overhaul but I don’t see a lot of wear so far...they were perfect second set pads...fitted for about 4 years...

I actually contacted Bosch Canada many years ago, who sent me a free set of front pads for identifying a problem with their international parts catalogue...It looks like they may still be wrong...

https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/ym...20Brake%20Pads

Anyway, what I ordered for the vehicle was correct by catalogue but not in reality...

Ive been changing different pads materials lately(because of reverse squeal), from ceramic to semi metallic to metallic. They all squeal backing up. But only in cool/cold weather or after the rain/ moisture condition.
Right now running Beck/Arn Pagid which is what Bmw use. Guess what, yea still squeal. Had run it dry backing plate, brake grease and the orange silicone thing for brake quiet. None had worked.
But by far this is the best pad I have experience if you’re moving forward only. Goodluck on reversing lol.

Thats interesting.. the oem pads i had prior to this did not squeal at all. I also had the same issue with my 335 but with enough goop on pads the sound went away

I have a Merc GLC 300 of 2016

When I back out of my garage every morning, the squealing wakes up the whole neighborhood !!

We’re they two piece or cast...

Centric seem to have a two piece offering now - Same as Pagid.

Although not on Rock Auto, I noted that Zimmerman are also offering a two piece.

Good news...
