Replacing Pads and Rotors help!
Is appears that the emergency brake shoes are preventing me from removing the rotors on rear of vehicle. Rotor moves toward me about 1/4" then jams. It spins freely on wheel hub so it is not jam from rust. Please help?

Get a piece of 2x4 on knock disc circumferentially. It should free up.

I had the same issue when I replaced my pads and rotors a few weeks back. There's a "service position" that you can put the calipers in that retracts the parking brake. Not sure if this is necessarily required, but my rotors popped off easily once that was engaged. Activating the service position will require a diagnostics tool.

I didn’t have any problem with removing mine when I replaced my brake actuator. Try pulling the service release in the trunk. It’s under the driver side panel near the hatch. There is a tool to release it, directions also in the manual.
Just remove the cover and it’s at the bottom of the opening. |
