S63 Oil Filter Cap with Drain Plug

Anyone have experience with this piece ?
Looks like from a quality shop.
More reliable torquing of the cover. No slippage/wear down of the plastic with the existing cap tool.

I’ve never stripped a cap... I like the idea of the drain plug... but don’t see any real benefit especially at that price...The S63 is such an easy vehicle to work on in the first place.

The drain and the bolt like fixture are the features that I like.
My M6 is new to me and I changed the oil on it for the first time yesterday. Needed torque of 40 Nm for the filter. That is more the the oil drain bolt. Used my good old cap tool (BMW) but the PO rough housed the cap for it had almost lost its facets for the grab.

Looks interesting. My stock cap has a drain bolt in it as well, but it has been stripped at some point in the past, so I cant take advantage of it.

The idea to not use the special oil filter socket is nice, as at least the one I have is super tight, so it becomes a fight to get it off of the cap when done.

The one concern that I have, it may be very easy to overtighten, and crack the upper oil pan right there. Definitely an item for people who are careful about torque values, not someone who goes to a shop for oil changes.

Indeed.
Like my local tire shop. Owner and manager are great. They’ve always balanced them well, but the good ole boys are always in a rush to get them on and always air gun them. I once asked them to hand torque them, and they looked at me like I was speaking another language. Always have to redo them when I get back to my garage. Gladly I only live about 4 miles away.
