Looking at 2011 X6 M

I found a 2011 X6 M for with 92xxxkms, 30k+tax Canadian. It had $31,000 worth of repairs in 2015. All it says is "front, passenger side".

My family runs a small body shop. I know paint pretty well. I could not tell this car was painted, it was done so well.

My dad thinks I should avoid it because of the work done that's on the carfax.

Is this an X6-M I should avoid?



Long story short, I do a lot of my own work on cars. Unless it's major like an engine rebuild, or a tranny swap, I can do most of it.

I'm looking at out of warranty (yes I know, everyone says don't do it but I can change wheel bearings, suspension components, solenoids, bolt ons like turbo's, oil pans, water pumps, alternators, and a lot of stuff myself).

X6-M

Vs

E63 AMG.

I'm looking at 2010-2012 of both models.

I know the 10's for the AMG have headbolt issues.

I know the suspension on the X6 M is very complex, and the whole inboard cats/turbos on the 4.4 scare me too.

Anyone have some advice? I'm coming from Jap tuner cars so I'm used to jap car that are faily relaible.

if it had that much in repairs, wouldnt it have a salvage title? if so, that asking price is too high.

It's not a salvage, it's an '11 that had the claim in '15, so kinda new at that point.

What part of Canada is it from? If Quebec or Ontario, I would avoid it, other provinces, might be ok.
