Will LED type brake bulbs work?

My stock brake light bulbs are busted, planning to change to LEDs

Bulb type: P21W
I searched ebay, there are LEDs available, instead of halogen
with they throw an error code on the dash?

thanks

from what i know, LEDs make the lights flicker during initial start up. You can code this and disable the voltage check and it will stop the flickering. Look for canbus LEDs, i heard those are error free.

My lad has an 2008 E90 323i...back end all changed over to LED...they work fantastic...we used the Phillips ones (lifetime warranty)...although cheaper options on Ebay etc. They do the flicker test on start up which he likes...we do get a bulb error...and have bought the phillips canbus splice in-thing...but not installed it yet. Dash error goes away once cancelled.

Yes you can, on my previous 530xi i replaced everything to led used the philips, on the tails and osram for the turn signals, and they looked mint! Then i hit a tree on black ice and totaled it, i salvaged the lamps. Used them on my X6 but you will need a carly to disable the bulb check, they work perfectly, now on the X6 they have a funky p24y bay 9 for turns,i replaced them as well. I ordered from bimmian in canada,as of yet they do not make a red colored led for the turns only that crisp white, it lightens the red lenses a tad but not really noticable im happy with my results, also did the front turns with the correct amber and its wicked bright, no can say they didnt see your turn signal.
