X6 / X6M boost gauge, torque display - experience

Hi,

I just want to share my experience - I got my brandnew digital data display for my X6M yesterday - for X6M it seems to be the first of that kind - they already produced it for 3 series and M3 - but X6 and X5 is new and I am the first ;o)

It is the insidePerformance data display:
http://www.insideperformance.de/onli...26/language/en

perfectly integrated into the interieur - replacing one air vent - it took me 45 minutes to install - and I am not a technical or electric specialist (by far not ;o)
It comes completly pre-mounted into the complete air unit - so I just had to replace the middle air unit 1:1

I will write a short installation instruction if somebody is interested.

Features are great!

As mentioned by insidePerformance, I get all the following data displays:

- boost / charge-air pressure (boost gouge)
- torque
- cooling water temperature
- oil temperature
- voltage
- digital speed (including Vmax)
- acceleration data (0-100 / 0-200 km/h)
- acceleration force and lateral acceleration
- engine power / performance (PS / HP)
- performance and torque diagram
- gas/fuel pressure
- exhaust temperature
- air intake temperature
- gearbox temperature
- lambda before catalysator on bank1 and bank2

All data semm to be absolutly valid - I mesures 562 HP (PS) and 692 Nm of torque

Display is controlled by the stock steeringwheel buttons. I selected the multimedia button for that.

But best of all is the high quality look ;o) Nothing you need - but something you want and like..

What do you think?

That's pretty neat...never heard of that before. I'm not sure I could give up my main AC vent, but that has some nice features.

there is a special price on the release of this product.. so price in europe for me was 1399 euro instead of 1499 euro - but if you order from the US or outside europe you should get additional 19% tax relieve..

I used the following installation instruction - it was really easy (secont post is in english):

Boost gauge and oil temp useful but most of the others are redundant for the layperson, or could be achieved by a 200 buck accelerometer or even a decent satnav. Nice idea but limited market I think.

I agree! Especially in my winters that vent makes the difference when I need heat!

I typically don't run my fans on 100% anyway and usually use he feet/defrost vents I doubt I would even notice a missing vent

Pretty cool for gee-whiz info center, but doubt I could justify the cash for something I probably would rarely use on this type of vehicle.

Is one of the vents completely blocked after the installation or is it still partially functional, i.e. letting some air through?
