Not me. I’m afraid I might scratch my car, and my watch.

real men....

living is more important than worrying about material possessions and 'scratching' them.

Untrue, its straight posers like pro athletes wearing big gold chain while playing. Anything that's a detriment to your task at hand is idiotic.

Poser is the wrong term for it IMO.

You might call it dumb or impractical, but poser?

A poser is someone who tries to give off the illusion that they are more than what they actually are.

Some people are conscious posers.

Some people are unconscious posers and will defend to the death the notion that they are simply "watch connoisseurs" or that they just like Louis Vuitton handbags for their artistry or quality and that price or perceived prestige has nothing to do with it.

These are the same people who complain ad nauseum about replica watches or replica handbags.

If you actively complain about someone paying a few hundred bucks for a replica Rolex, there's a very good chance that you are poser. The person paying a few hundred bucks for a replica Rolex is also a poser.

Seiko SNKxxx line for an affordable($50), nice-looking beater. You can also throw a nice sapphire crystal on them for ~$25.

Not a quartz watch, but a while ago I bought one of these - solar powered, reasonably priced and I don't care about taking it out to play on cars.
