BMW bike rack specs needed

I am thinking of getting one of these cool bike racks that screw in the tow slots on the bumper.. but i have two downhill bikes that i want to carry and maybe toss a third on there... can anyone find the specs for this rack as per what the tongue weight max is???? i cant find anything.. thanks

Hi,
I have one, I believe it said the max cargo weight was 65 lbs... Having used it, I would agree you wouldn't want to go over that. Its fine for two bikes - but two heavy bikes would be pushing it...
Let me know if you want any more details.
BTW if you buy it at the dealer use your BMW CCA membership for 15% off. It's a pricey unit.

I have used one already 6 years in total, I have the the European model which is the same + lights.

It takes 2 DH bikes easily, and I have modified mine so that I can put a Fatbike to the outer tire holders.

It's quite a sturdy, but extending it for a third bike might be a lot of stress to those bolts going to the car frame behind the bumper.

I have also a roof rack (on the bars) so if whole family goes biking 2 more bikes go to on the roof.

Sturdy enough for the 2 bikes it was designed for, yes, but I would not put a third on it. I would never consider standing on it either.

Consensus is - If you need to put a third bike on, go get a trailer hitch install and get a proper robust rack.
