I had mine for the E70 made with some oval piping I bought on eBay… they certainly could have been prettier, if I had any welding skills I just pie cut them much nicer, but even with the silicone elbows etc, it was still under $500…

This fits well and clears my hood, what you can't see are the two air intakes that literally like suck air the way they're positioned in the kidneys that go through the M (gutted) air box / probably provides a little-5-10hp / to no power increase but the sounds are worth it ! (Non super oiled - I use these just barely oiled) I have another style similar to the way that Gentlemens were welded it just didn't sit right.

This is probably robbing power by taking in hot air rather than cold air as the stock system at least does.

I agree with the above that this is going to be heat soaking big time in the summer. All those noises you here etc it's the only positive side of that setup otherwise you are 100% losing power.

I've logged the temperatures under the hood I have scoops under the M intake the stock box that has been hollowed out it's actually not that bad

I'll agree with others that you're sucking in a lot of hot air. As for oiling, we don't have a MAF so it doesn't really matter.

I definitely am sucking in some hot air but when I log it's not as terrible as you think but I won't give it up for the wonderful sounds I had a different type of filter in a little different set up in there before this works beautifully and according to the logs which I can take a screenshot of then again I am in the northeast and it is winter - come the warm weather again I'll show you it's not as terrible as you think but like I said with the scoops under where you have the two air inlets for the airbox without those scoops you're gonna go up about 15°- 20° EASY !
