Anyone else heard about sept production
I went a couple of wks ago and ordered a X6. I was told that the sept models will have a few minor changes. He mentioned different tail lights and maybe head lights. It was due for a minor facelift anyway and with all the other models in the lineup getting LED angel eyes I am very curious to know if that will be on the sept model. Has anyone heard anything? He wasnt sure what all was changing but he said he knew for a fact that some changes we going to happen in the sept builds. Mine is supposed to be made the 35th wk so I will get the updated model just wanted to know what the updates were.

Hopefully its not just the performance upgrade
Hmmmm not sure if that is what he is talking about. He said the tail lights were getting updated or something like that. He also said all 2011 before sept are really just 2010s with a production of 2011. The real 2011 do not start until sept which would make sense if the power upgrade isnt released until then. Not sure if thats true or not just what sales manager said.
For all those getting ready to say he just wanted me to order a new one he had two x6s on the lot that he would have much rather sold but I wanted a specific build. Anyway all I really care about is I would like the new look angel eyes. All the after market stuff doesnt seem to match the factory color ones and they are not bright during the day. |

thanks
Ya I would be upset as well. DO you think its a simple software download? Maybe you can get an update. Wonder what my guy was talking about with the tail lights. However I am sure they will update the body work a little next year if they dont in sept so I will be in the same situation as you.

As a general rule BMW models are refreshed every 7 years, I don't think you will major changes until then. mostly tweaks to idrive, cameras , perf pack body panels, etc.

IIRC: the connected drive is not a simple SW update, there is hardware that needs to be installed.....could be wrong tho...

You said that your vehicle production week was 35, my vehicle production week was 33, 2 weeks would make your vehicle production 8/23-8/27 so you are not going to get the updates. Correct?

yes sir
Ya that would be correct however I had my sales manager push it back to wk 36 so I could get the updates. I figure and extra wk of waiting is worth the newer version of stuff. However at the time I didnt know it was the Idrive update. I was told it had something to do with lights.

Info
Sales manager wasn't in today but I asked around and two guys I talked to said the sept update is happening at different times depending on the car. He seemed to think the x6 was still going to be ok if built in sept. I asked about the wk40 rumor and he said there is no way for anyone at the plant to really know that. When enough parts make it in to switch over to the update then they start. He said that's why not all cars switch at the Same time. Now how much of this is accurate idk just passing along what I was told. Now the sales manager has some pretty high up contacts so when I get a chance this wk I will stop in and talk with him.

Huh
What bulletin do you refer to? I read all of them in this thread and all the information I got said cars made in sept. Nothing about oct except what people have posted themselves. The actual BMW bulletin in this thread says sept. I don't think anyone really knows the time. In fact from the sound of it I don't think BMW is sure. Guess we will all see soon enough. Bluetooth does zero for me. But I do like the sound of I'm iPod being digital and not the aux cord as well as album art. But nothing I'm gonna be irate over.
