Coding tow package e70 LCI

just finished installing the OEM package. fairly straight forward other than measuring 100 times before taking a Sawzall to my car.

now I need it coded.. dealers here are saying 374 which seems crazy. anyone know a place in NJ or NYC that can do this at a reasonable price?

I am concerned about the FRM going during coding as Carly told me once my FRM was faulty so would prefer to get it done at a dealer if I can to protect the extended FRM warranty. But will take my chances for 374...

I used 'Okee' at www.codemycar.com - he's in NYC but does all the coding remotely, no need to take it anywhere (you'll need the cable to connect laptop to vehicle). While you're at it, you could have him code some cool features on your X5, and code off some annoying ones

a couple from memory for e70:
-auto fold mirrors
- delete ugly orange corner marker lights
- digital speedo
- speedo correction so it doesn't overstate
- disable seat belt chime
- disable legal disclaimers on idrive
- DVD in motion
- trailer hitch zoom to aid hooking up to trailer
- auto door unlocked when off
- auto eject key when car shutoff
- hold key to close and open windows and sunroof
- close tailgate from inside car with button that usually only opens
- close tailgate with fob using open button

yes Carly codes those. I have carly and most of this was already coded for me. that said I had not coded any FRM changes with Carly as it was giving an error that my FRM was defective and it was likely to brick. could have risked it but didn't. this meant no folding mirrors or corner light delete.

he didn't charge any extra for the coding above the hitch coding so glad to have it done.

on an unrelated point - I have the oem ball hitch . has anyone had issue with its fit to the receiver. I have to hit it very hard to get it in and then had to hook up to my other car with a tow strap to pull out of the receiver. it definitely fits as it should bit there is zero clearance. expect after it comes in and out enough the clearance will make itself but curious if others have had the same issue or not.

There should be coding options for all those BMW models shown in your profile.

I have had similar problems with the draw bar. Some have too much paint. I'd either grind it down or buy a different one.
