Is there particular year of X5 35D more reliable than others?
I am considering buying E70 BMW X5 35D with high mileage (100K miles). Are there particular model that fixed most of stuff that have seen in previous year?
Would you consider X5 35D with high miles to be a reliable car s or should I stay away and buy a lexus instead lol? Any inputs would be appreciated. |

My 2012 X5D was bought back by BMW today :-( for an issue I've had since purchase in 2015. On that note, no one else has had the same issue and I've looked at all manner of issues in X5D's. I put on 34k miles with ~22mpg
Dependable vehicles, great ride and handling (sport/20") some will have more issues than others but nothing that stands out as a big problem. If you need absolute dependability then as you know BMW has its issues but you lose driving dynamics. I did drive a ~17 X5 loaner and it did not feel as nice as <2012. I really suspect BMW is slowly making their cars "softer" driving. So if you can try a 2012 or older vs 2013 up.
