X5 M Snow Tires-Sizing-Feedback Verdestein-Nokian

Am going to purchase the 209 Rims if I go through with the lease/purchase of a '12 X5 M.

Tire size 255-50-19 or 255-55-19? Most people seem to be doing the 255-50-19.

For a non-studded tire, am debating between the NOKIAN HAKKAPELIITTA R SUV TIRES and the VREDESTEIN WINTRAC 4 XTREME TIRES. If anyone here is running these tires and could provide any feedback, it would be appreciated.

Cheers.

X5 M Winter Wheel Set - 298M wheels

Dealer confirmed with me that the 298M wheels are required for the '12 X5 M with size 255-50R19 recommended - still have not decided between Conti - Nokian - Vredestein...

Can only speak on the Vred's...had several winter seasons of positive experience (275x20). Mainly used for ski trips, they performed exceptionally well on ice, unplowed mountain roads. So long as you're running dedicated winter tires in snow-belt area, you can't go wrong.

Thanks for the replies.

The Pirelli Scorpions have some great reviews as do the Vredesteins. I ended up with the following, purchased through my dealer:

4x Nokian Hakkapeliitta R (runflat) SUV tires 255/50R19 with 298M; price breaking down as follows (install included):

$1836 total for the 4 rims 298M
$373.84 Wheel Sensors
$78.92 Valve stems
$1620 Tires

Now all we need in Colorado is some snow!

Happy 2012!
