New downpipes

Want to go back to catless, so Im trying these new catless downpipes I found from "Taiko".

They look very very nice.

Hopefully fitment is just as good.

Waiting for some exhaust wrap to be delivered from PTP, then will install it.

Those do look nice, keep us posted on how they fit. Btw, any draggy or track runs planned soon? Interested too see how the pure turbos perform.

I need to get a draggy, but likely will have to wait till spring since it's getting super cold now here in NJ.

Got done wrapping these in PTP lava heat wrap. It seems you can use the stock v clamp but need to use longer M8 x 1.25 x 60mm bolts. (Stock bolt length is 40mm (the threaded portion, not including the hex head).

**Update** 50mm works perfectly

If you need longer bolts for the V clamps then something is not right with the install.

These are not like any other downpipes in the market..the lip of the downpipe sits ontop of the turbo hot side, rather than sitting Inside. So there is that tad bit of extension which causes the need for longer bolts.

You'll see it in this picture below, the outer lip.

I've done plenty of these installs with different downpipes...stock, high flow catted and two other catless versions..I could do this install in the dark now.

They are in (atleast the top side). Garage is super cold so saving the bottom portion for later this week when I find time.

Btw 50mm bolts worked perfectly.

We'll know soon enough! I'll post a video.

Waiting for slightly warmer temps so I can finish up.

😅 What I finally ended up doing was installing a pair of MB G63 cats where the under cabin resonators are, and I must say I am very happy with the results. The flow is much better than original cats and they have larger cells. Sound very good as well. No stink. Passed emissions with flying colors.
Just an idea for us who don't like removing catless pipes over and over …
