Help w/ Errors on N55 after replacing Starter...

Hi all,

First time here. Long story short, here's what I did:
  • The car has NEVER had any issues/errors, etc. perfectly maintained and fine.
  • Removed Intake Manifold
  • Replaced Starter and OH what a B that was to get all the way back there...even w/ special tools was risky...
  • Put everything back together
  • Started Car..... into LIMP MODE all the sudden, never happened EVER before
  • Diagnosed w/ THOR + MHD reader and received these errors:

The errors are :
- DME active codes -
  • 277A - Hot film air mass meter, signal: Electrical fault.
  • 2C58 - Charging pressure control: Switch-off as consequential reaction.
  • 2D53 - VANOS solenoid valve, inlet, activation: Line disconnection.
  • 2D9D - VANOS solenoid valve, exhaust , exhaust, activation: Line disconnection.
  • 3150 - Differential pressure sensor, fuel tank ventilation system, electrical: Short circuit to B+.

- DME shadow (inactive) codes -
  • 2DAD VANOS, exhaust, collective fault: electrical or mechanical
  • 2DAE VANOS, inlet, collective fault: electrical or mechanical
  • 2DAF - VANOS: Multiple fault.

What I have done so far to try and fix... (hoping to not have to remove manifold again but I might have to, to ensure all connectivity)
  • Made sure everything is connected / reconnected everything.. like 5x
  • Put the stock Charge pipe back in, to ensure all sensors/connections good
  • cleaned sensors with MAF sensor cleaner
  • Cleared DME codes + Reset Adaptations + Disconnect. Battery for 10 min+
  • it can't be a bad sensor, it's gotta be something with connection, fuses, relay, etc. I believe which is why I think I'll have to take manifold off 1 more time or something

The only thing I can think of to do left is:
  • Take the manifold off and clean all sensors and reconnect
  • Check all fuses/ relays and replace them, incase I shorted it out somehow?
  • Take advice from all of you

Are you sure all the connections are good? When you take the intake manifold off. There are 5 connections to the main ecu. It's possible one isn't seated properly.
