Dinan High Perf Free Flow exhaust install
I broke down and ordered the Dinan HP Free Flow exhaust today. should be installed next week. if anyone is interested here is a youtube clip from Dinan. sounds cool and I like the dual exhaust look. Dinan also has good description on their website as well. What really sold me is Steve Dinan's statement "Dinan prides itself on building the best sounding, best performing exhausts on the market with zero drone"

Install Complete!
Install done today in Pompano Beach. Awesome shop, authorized Dinan dealer. had few M5 and and M3 getting Dinan tunes. Also had some Porsche Turbos getting some mods.
Anyway, the exhaust looks and sound great! |

Yes Foreign Affairs in Pompano Bch. Jared took care of me. Still thinking about the HR springs drop, but Jared is insisting its a 7 hr install at $1k. seems a bit high. but they did a great job on the exhaust.

So a few months out after install, how do you guys feel about your exhaust systems ? I'm personally still debating this one.

Wouldn't hesitate doing it again. I am still on the fence re: lowering with HR springs. |

Thanks for the quick reply.
Dinan claims no drone with the system, does that seem to be the case ?

I have not seen/heard if any. Dinan should put one on their website and it may help prospective buyers decide on this overpriced rear boot than opting for the Akra

Well I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that if it's not showing up on the ///M then on a standard X6 50i it also shouldn't drone.
Thanks for the input.

Had the Dinan suspension, exhaust, and performance software installed yesterday at BMW Encinitas, CA. The installation was absolutely superb! The combined effect of all these modifications is fantastic! I was going to go slow, and start with the suspension and build from there. But, the current Dinan sale convinced me to get them at once. The ride is even more solid and confidence building, the responsiveness feels even greater (it was way great before) and the exhaust note is sublime. Totally recommend each of these upgrades!

I had my Dinan exaust installed 2 month ago on x6m! Not impressed at all!! 3600$!!! my next x6 i will try something else! Acrapovich for example!! VieV from behind ugly!!! oem FITS MUCH BETTER NOT STICKING OUT AS MUCH AS DINAN!!! IF YOU DISABLE THOSE VALVES ON STOCK EXAUST YOU WILL HAVE A SAME SOUND NOT SPENDING 3600$$$! THINK TWICE!!

I am pleased with the sound of the Dinan on the X6 50i. Mine does not sound the same as the stock exhaust. One of the things about exhausts is a lot of different folks have different tastes in how they want their vehicle to sound, just like with its looks. If there was just one exhaust that had the perfect note, everyone would be buying just that one. But reading in the forums and looking on Youtube it would appear that several of the different exhaust types are out there on various owners X6s. To me that's a good thing, I like a little variety out there. Wouldn't it suck if everyone's vehicles all looked and sounded the same.

Here's a quick video of the Dinan exhaust note with the vehicle under load. I'll make a better one testing various aspects later on. But for now this should give some idea of how it sounds. This was taken near the exhaust tip with a GoPro Hero2 camera using its internal mic. (so sound won't be perfect) Sorry but it's been windy here all week.
I think it has a deeper/racier exhaust note than the stock setup.
