X6 3.5 Resonator Removal?

Has anyone removed their resonator on their X6 3.5? If so did you replace with a straight through muffler or straight pipe? I'm trying to increase sound just a small amount. I know that's very subjective. I think a straight pipe may cause a drone or be too raspy.
Thanks much.

Mine was removed when I change the 35i exhaust tip to 50i exhaust tip. I realized there is some "loss" in the low end torque and there is turbo lag now. I am not doing anything now until some good suggestion comes.

How much of an increase in exhaust noise did you create? Also, did you use an "X" pipe when you installed the replacement piping?
Thanks

Removal complete. The resonator is about 12-14 inches long, 6-8 inches wide and both pipes go straight through, no baffles, and are NOT joined in any way.
I had an X pipe installed to equalize pressure ahead of the muffler. Since I'm running a Supersprint street muffler, still relatively quiet, I was hoping for a little more volume. Perhaps a got a little bit. I guess the best part is I've shed about 10 pounds.

What was the diameter of the x-pipe in-outlets? I think it's 2.25" but I want to make sure before removing mine as well.. By chance, I already have 2 Magnaflow x-pipes.. One 2.5" and other 3" in D.

Also, you've both removed the OEM resonator, replaced it with an aftermarket one and also added an x-pipe right?

eg3,
Correct, stock muffler removed, replaced with Supersprint street muffler. I'm 98% sure it's 2.25 inch piping. Below is a link to what we put in. I didn't do the work personally. There's not a lot of room to play with under there.
