2012 X5m part out or sale as whole
My beloved 2012 X5m got some bad news today. The oil pump failed and the engine lost oil pressure for a bit... took it to a shop and he noticed some metal shavings in the oil filter... car still runs but has noticeable loss of power, check engine light confirmed loss of oil pressure... he's not sure if the engine needs a rebuild or replaced but I'm exploring options... would be willing to sell the car as a whole (easy option), part it out piece by piece (very hard option), or if someone has a solution that can keep me in it that works too! It's a fully loaded suv only missing the rear entertainment. Body is flawless (carbon black) and so is the interior (black)! |

Sorry to hear that. Keep us posted what you end up doing. Depending on cost of rebuild vs replace, I'd probably keep it since I love mine.

Thanks guys, my local Indy shop is searching far and wide for the best solution, but I can't afford to have the car down for too long... cars perfect for someone wanting to do a built motor! Will update as I know more!

Is your car insurance can do something?

No insurance doesn't cover engine failure, only if it is the result of a collision or flood... but good news is I was able to pick up and engine for a decent price... should be installed next week!

5500 for the engine 2600 for new turbos 2000 for misc parts and 2500 for labor. More than originally anticipated, turbos were salvageable but my mechanic wanted all new, as well as a bunch of other parts were replaced while in there
