Hello gents, i've been reading through this thread non stop. You guys have all been very helpful and very knowledgeable. Since its been close to a year since anyone has replied in this thread, has anyone made any revealing findings when it comes to the s63tu manifold?

Been almost 2 years now, I have been running this setup I'm still happy. Busy finalizing the tune, had to change the fuel scalar, definitely alot more air flowing

Stock tune with the TU turbos and manifold.

Could not be happier I need to upload a video of the sounds - even with stock exhaust and cats it is really great, can’t wait until I get nice set of high flow downpipes to go with the exhaust

I have not been on a dyno so power increase is unknown

That's excellent. No issues running the TU turbos and manifold on stock tune?

No CEL after a few thousand miles now - I have this pretty much figured out to just bolt on and drive.

I have a manual boost gauge and verify it goes to about 16 or 17 or so on stock and the truck is 1000% more fun just as is. It does have some power delivery differences and considerable lag if your not driving it correctly but otherwise it feels like a monster and is honestly pretty good for stock.

I have a JB4 that I haven’t even tested yet and I’m a little cautious since I’d rather not break until I have space to tear it down

Smog is an issue as the fuel system reports as not ready but I’m not sure if that is actually even related and could be a prior issue I didn’t notice since I wasn’t doing CA smog and never checked it regularly - there is an active recall on the fuel pumps but dealer won’t replace mine and I haven’t bothered changing it

Ah sounds to me like you could use a nice custom tune and since your in CA you should ask someone like Gintani to have a a look at the tune.

I’m contemplating it. I’ll be pulling the engine soon and want to use TU manifolds. And I’d get the appropriate Pure stage 2 turbos. Still looking for a tuner that can support this setup. I’ll be dumping a Velos tune, stock turbos (and manifolds). Any objections? Advice?

Start with replacing your vacuum lines.

I am NOT an engineer, so I am dependent on tuners who are trying to help me out and by using bolt on parts that are available for my vehicle... I might try the JB4 if my tuner feels good about it, but I'm not likely going to install meth or try any custom, one off custom fabricated parts.

im in the same boat as you. wish i did my research before i decided to jump off the cliff on my broken x6m.

i assume you had straight rods and not the curved/offset rods? what year is your truck?

Should I upgrade the X5M manifold and turbos to M5 while the build is taking place?

With that in mind a few questions to those of you versed in this upgrade strategy:

1. Is this investment worth it? Should I put focus on S63TU manifolds and turbos instead?

2. Anyone completed the Pure stage 1 or 2 upgrade?

3. Anyone know of a tuner that can successfully tune any of this to max power?

4. What happens if I bolt these up, but don't get a tune?

5. Has anyone successfully completed this upgrade yet?

6. Has anyone mated the M5 intercoolers to the X platform? Is there room? Is heat soak going to be a problem on the original ICs?

Thanks in advance!!!

I confirm that swopping the sensors does work.
DME works with ratio from sensors.
Firing order is exactly the same as TU.
Only issue I have now is that the trims are high.
Stuck at 25 most of time.
Definitely need to tune.
My explanation is that theres alot more air running through the system now with
TU turbos and manifold so DME needs to compensate.
Were you able to confirm the fuel adjustments taken from the o2 readings were don't what they were supposed to?

[QUOTE=Dasky_spas;30912377]Were you able to confirm correct cylinder fuel adjustments via tune or automatically ( by the dme) are working as intended?

Have you checked the plugs?
