Ceramic Coatings and PPF on the X5M

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to hear if any of you guys have had experiences with Ceramic Coating or PPFing your trucks? It is getting nice out and I want to get my truck detailed, paint corrected, scratches removed and prepped for this summer.
If you guys could help answer the following questions,

What did you end up choosing?

how much did you spend? Was it worth it?

Did the coating/PPF have a warranty and was it worth it?

I have a Space Gray Metallic X5M if that helps.

Thanks,
Nick

I follow Phil from Detailers Domain on Instagram. He is local to me and his work is astounding.

He has a bunch of examples on his page of the beating the PPF can take and when its removed, the paint it still perfect underneath. I plan to have my rear quarter panels wrapped once I get them repainted. I think the Xpel film has a 10 year warranty on it. Price will totally depend on how much of the car you have wrapped.

For ceramic coatings, if I have the time to detail my car this summer, I plan on using Nanolex SiShield.

If you are having the ceramic coating applied by a shop, there is the Nanolex Si3D coating which is a pro-grade version

I had mine Ceramic Coated and I love it. Much easier to wash and he did the wheels to and the abundant brake dust comes off very easy. Strongly suggest getting it Ceramic Coated.

Gtechniq

I have one from Gtechniq that requires a licensed installer. It's great. Easy to clean, very nice gloss shine. I would say try to correct any paint issues before applying it or having it applied.
