MORE PRICE DROP! 2010 X5M - Black Sapphire Metallic - Very Clean - WARRANTY!
Up for sale is my 2010 BMW X5M. The car has been very well taken care of since it was new, as I checked into the history of the car very thoroughly prior to purchasing. It has been under a full bumper to bumper warranty since it was brand new. The car went from new to CPO to a Route66 Easy Street full coverage warranty, which lasts until July 2020 or 100,000 miles. The warranty is transferrable for a $50 fee, with no deductible. I am starting with this information so you have a sense of how well cared for this vehicle has been. I have an offer of $19k + tax credits (which equals $20,750) right now from a local dealer. I am looking to give someone a fair deal, but won’t give the car away. Asking $20,000 Basics: Car is actually loaded, I can’t think of one option it doesn’t have for the year. (Let me know though) https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/lk25444 2010 BMW X5M - 5YMGY0C50ALK25444 Black Sapphire Metallic | Black Perforated & Extended Leather 81,XXX Miles – Will go up slightly as it’s my daily Heated/Cooled Seats + Driver Massage Rear Climate Control w/ Heated Seats Rear Entertainment (Have remote, do not have headphones) Heads Up Display Heated Steering Wheel Comfort Access/Soft Close Doors Full Spare BMW OEM Trailer Hitch installed by Previous Owner (~2015) Never modified with exception to the following: OEM LCI Taillights, Pedalhaus Black Pedals, Blue Start/Stop Button – all installed during my ownership In Service: 11/9/2009 Original Warranty Expiration: 11/10/2013 CPO Warranty Expiration: 11/10/2015 Route66 Warranty Coverage: 7/10/2015-7/9/2020 – or 100k Miles Notice: The car will need a brake job soon, but will include new pads and brake fluid, you need to get rotors and sensors. I’ve been told there’s about 3-4k miles left, and since I only drive ~6k miles a year, it wasn’t a big deal. Exterior: The exterior shows very well for a 2010 car with 81k miles. There isn’t a dent, scratch, scrape, etc. around the entire vehicle, except for the front bumper. When I bought the car, there were several small door dings, which I had professionally PDR’ed. Since then I park FAR in parking lots and have a indoor garage at home and work. I had the wheels powdercoated when I bought the car in 2016, but the Chicago potholes have had other ideas since and they do show some rubs here and there, but are still very presentable. The front bumper could use some attention. I would recommend a sanding, respray and adding the plate bracket to cover a slight deformity. Someone backed into me over the winter and I just haven’t the time to get it repaired. I also wanted the car to show honestly since I knew I was going to sell it soon. Interior: Probably one of the most comfortable BMW interiors ever produced to be honest. The seats, door cards, dash, arm rests are in excellent shape. Not even the driver seat shows signs of wear, and since this is the perforated, upgraded leather, it doesn’t show stretch marks like the base X5M seats. These seats also have the adjustable head rests, cooled The carpets are all clean, no spills, stains, burn marks (non smoker car). The cargo area does show some marks on the plastic tailgate area, but the carpets, side panels, and cargo cover are all blemish free. All functions work as they should and I’ve removed the phone mount in the arm rest so there is extra space. The only thing that could use addressing are some scratches on the Piano Black trim on the center console, but honestly they are faint and you don’t notice them when sitting in the car. They were difficult to capture in photos. Maintenance – Below done under my ownership, but have records back to new that will be included. (Nearly every repair has been done by Laurel BMW, Murray BMW or Las Vegas BMW since new) 2/4/19 – Oil Change, Replace Coil, Replace Spark Plugs 1/8/19 – Replaced both vent pipes & air ducts, replaced thrust rod bushings and RF lower control arm, replaced both front swaybar links, alignment 10/17/18 – Replaced crank case vent hose 9/11/18 – Replaced HKL Module (tailgate control unit) – 2nd time (dealer error on first install) 7/23/18 – Replaced coolant expansion tank 5/22/18 – Replaced HKL Module (tailgate control unit) 5/17/18 – Replaced tailgate spindle, lubricated sunroof and inspected drain plugs 4/17/18 – Cabin air filters replaced by myself 4/13/18 – Alignment for new tires, BMW airbag recall completed 4/11/18 – New Tires Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 – 76,146 Miles 1/3/18 – New Battery 9/15/17 – Oil Change, replaced water pump and associated hoses, replaced turbo coolant pump and coolant lines, replaced driver leg bolster extension, replaced AC condenser 8/12/16 – Replaced upper oil pan gasket My story: I’ve had this X5M since July of 2016 and it’s been the car I’ve kept longest in the last 10-12 years. It’s been nothing but a pleasure to own and drive. It’s fast (real fast), when you need it to be and tame and compliant. It’s the most comfortable car I’ve ever owned. It’s probably my favorite car I’ve ever owned, but it’s time for something new and equally exciting. I want to pass this car along to someone who will be as enthusiastic as I have been with it, but still leave that person enough warranty to thoroughly enjoy it worry free. My previous private sale transactions: 2/19 – Sold my E36 M3 Sedan to a massive enthusiast from DC. He flew to Chicago and drove it home straight through with zero issues. It’s now his daily. He has multiple E30 M3’s, Porsches, M2 Competition, Trackhawk, you get the picture. He was overly impressed with the car. 2/18 - Bought E36 M3 Sedan from an enthusiast in Wisconsin, who joined the new owner and I for pizza before he departed to DC (see above) 6/16 – Bought X5M from Utah X5M on bimmerpost and we still keep in contact, he said he should buy this thing back he misses it so much 4/16 – Sold my 2008 Mercedes E63 to a Porsche collector in Chicago to be his daily driver, again we still keep in contact 7/15 – Sold my E90 M3 to someone in California over text message. 4/14 – Sold my E92 M3 ZCP to Chuck Vossler from BMW Blog. He flew in from KC to Chicago to pick the car up and couldn’t believe the car was actually as clean as my photos and description. We still talk today. Long story short. I’ve done this a few times recently and try to be as transparent as possible before selling to an enthusiast like myself. If you have any questions, want any additional pictures or have any hesitations, please contact me.

This is a great deal at $23K with the warranty! The tow hitch instal looks good, I'm going to copy that on my X5M as the previous owner did a hack job putting the hitch on.
Beautiful X5M, GLWS!

I have Route 66, I got it last year around this time, but it doesn't include and hoses or gaskets... so for an X5M, it hasn't covered much. Half of my water pump so far. I think they ended any service with the x5M shortly after...

PO has this installed at his BMW dealer. I was under the impression it was an OEM solution but the tag reads Oris.

Thanks. Trying to give someone a fair deal. There is a kit somewhere with this trim that I saw recently on the internet, for the hitch.

That's disappointing to hear. It's covered probably around $8k+ in work for me since 2016. I would leverage a Service Advisor instead of dealing with them yourself, if you aren't already. They tried to force me to talk to them directly without the dealer involved and I LOLed at them.

Thanks for the additional photos and info! As someone who spent almost a year shopping for X5Ms, this is definitely a great deal. Just to put the warranty's value into perspective, I got a quote for $3K for a 10k mile/1 year exclusionary warranty for the X5M I ended up buying(a 2013 similar to yours). The warranty is extremely valuable, and I hope any potential buyers will see that.

They don't anymore other than the policies currently in effect. They don't write new warranties on any M car. The basically don't cover any "performance" cars anymore outside of your regular mustangs and Camaros.

Here is what the warranty stipulates. It is really inclusive and only really excludes wear and tear items.
Love all the discussion around warranty and Route66. I've have both Fidelity on my Merc E63 and Route66 on the X5M. Fidelity is easier to deal with overall, but Route66 has covered MORE than I would have expected and with ZERO deductible.

At the very least, I know that the BMW hitch cross member for E70 X5 (71600440592, part of the kit 71602156525) is manufactured by Oris, and carries the same sort of label as the one on your vehicle. |

The more you drop the price the more people here would want you to drop it... Heck, I just paid well over 30 for mine ('12 X5M..White/cream with 40K miles) and I am now in the process of purchasing a platinum/exclusionary warranty 5/60 for nearly $5800
Considering all that ^, this is a friggen bargain at this price. |

If the number gets too close to the trade-in offers I have, I can easily trade it in. I figured I would try to let this go to an enthusiast that could benefit from the warranty, instead of trading it in and letting it go to auction.

I just spoke to Route66 to 100% confirm the following:
- Expiration 7/9/2020 or 100k miles - $50 transfer fee needs to be received with all information within 10 days of sale - Zero deductible (in case I didn't mention that before)
