Annoying no one from Avin will instruct us on how to remap the buttons.

After first few emails it's crickets. You can remap, but not to OEM.

You motivated me to retry my carplay module. I connected to wifi, made some google play updates, download waze carpool, and I noticed sound settings had a different level menu...so increased volume. Then I plugged in carplay. Amazingly working well such that I could listen to oem satellite at same time I was in CarPlay. The sound setting levels menu changed, but volume was same in oem vs monitor. Still get static when it reads texts. Will play with it this week to see if it holds. Also remapped NAV button to carplay.

Hadn't tried carplay in over a year

Thanks man, I love it as well!
I had a shop do it, but the guy who just removed the regular x5M rails and put my old ones on his car is sunnyj, he had some pics and info and could probably walk you through it. I paid $550 to just get the deleted and have it all done, so was worth it to me. The dealership's body shop did it.

Yea I saw SunnyJ's post, but I dont have time nor space to tackle that yet. I think I would have a body shop (?) handle that for me.

Did you have to get the strips or whatever it is that replaces the holes?

Yes, here is the estimate which shows everything that's needed and part numbers.

Thanks! I wish the shop was closer, I'd take it in this weekend lol

I'm going to speak to my body shop next month about this. I'm always hesitant to have anyone do interior work because my OCD comes into FULL play and I look for things out of place =/

Yeah, totally understand... that's why I used the shop affiliated with the dealer because they've removed and know how to manipulate BMW clips etc.

Also, something I forgot to add, search those part numbers and get the lowest prices... I've been having my dealer price match everything and they've been great about it. I had them price match almost $600 off my powerdome hood because ECS sells it for $1299... oops let my next mod in the works slip...

I've eyed the shit out of it. Apparently Vorsteiner no longer makes it, or the front and rear lips... I might have read wrong though.
