New to me 2010 X5M. Mystery cable??
So I recently purchased a 2010 X5M and absolutely love everything about it! Upon closely inspecting the vehicle I found a cable routed from the engine compartment, behind the gas pedal, and then through/behind the center console and ending on the passenger side. There is a plug connection behind the pedal and the end of the cable seems to have a receiver/sensor-looking piece that has a button that turns red and green when pushed while the vehicle is on. I am curious if anyone else knows what this device is and what it does? I’m still learning all about the many aftermarket parts available for the vehicle so maybe someone with more experience might know? I thought at first it was maybe a remote start sensor, but abandoned this idea when I realized it is a button (and it wouldn’t start remotely with the fob pressing lol). Anyway, thank you for reading and I appreciate any and all feedback! Attached pics.

I considered that, and it’s seeming more and more likely, but I can’t find a model that seems to match and I don’t see a brand name on the connection. Thank you for the response, I’ll continue reviewing older pedal tuners I can find.

I can’t attach a photo for some reason in this reply, but I did find it and you are correct! I’ve only tried green so I’ll have to try out red now too...thanks for the help!
