Arrow -= X5/X6 CIC Navigation Retrofit Kit =-

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds

Item Interest
The complete solution to retrofit the latest Navigation system (CIC) in X5 and X6 vehicles.
Based exclusively on OEM parts.

The E7x CIC retrofit main components:

Read it first:

I am proud to announce I am the only vendor offering the CIC Retrofit Kits based exclusively on OEM parts.
However, If you are thinking of working with somebody else who says that can do it for you please note that the installation of all parts in your car is just the first step to retrofit the CIC successfully.
The most important is to activate the Navigation and code the car in order to make sure that all modules can work with each other and with the CIC.
I have installed many CIC retrofits in cars produced from 2004 and there have been major differences in how these cars reacted to the CIC and how they had to be coded and programmed in order to make sure that all car options were compatible with the CIC.

The official BMW document says:
It is not possible to retrofit the CiC instead of an CCC because there is no coding data to activate the CiC with all other control modules on the BUS system.

My experience is something you cannot underestimate, so please have a look at the below testimonials before you decide who you would like to work with:

The CIC Retrofit Kit includes:
- CIC head unit
- CID High Definition screen
- iDrive controller
- CID power connector
- CID video cable
- CIC trim
- USB cable
- USB port
- Navigation FSC codes
- Navigation map
- Complete coding
- DVD-in-motion activated

It comes with the Navigation FSC codes loaded (navigation is fully activated) and the CIC is coded for the vehicle specification.
The Voice Control can also be activated, but it's not included in the basic kit.

Pricing:
The price depends on a few factors, so please contact me for more details ONLY by email at info@bimmer-tech.net and include your VIN.

The limitations of the CIC retrofit:
- no HD Radio in the US (the CIC is the Euro spec, the brand new US spec CIC is 700Euro extra)
- if your car was produced before October 2010 and you would like to have the car software updated by your dealership you will have to put your old CCC or Radio back in the car (it takes around 20 minutes to do the swap). According to BMW cars produced before the CIC was introduced could not have the CIC installed.
- if your car was produced before October 2010 and you have the backup camera or the PDC factory installed you will need to buy additional parts to retrofit those options as they will not work after the CIC is installed. Please contact me for more details.

We have very good news for our X5/X6 customers.

We are now offering the CIC retrofit kits that do not require any modifications to the PDC and backup camera, which means you no longer have to change any additional parts to have all features working with the CIC.

I looked onto this before. Sone guys out of Canada were charging a few thousand dollars to get it done.

Not sure it's worth it. But I will email for a quote.

Good info. Thx for sharing.

I have an 08 X5 4.8. With this upgrade, will it take care of the horrible backup camera view?

I recently did this change with Patryks guidance. I believe the camera view is way better than original. The first time I put the car in reverse and saw the camera after viewing the old screen for a while I was very impressed. I attached a picture I took this weekend, hopefully it shows the detail. The old screen was very dim and fuzzy, not much of a camera view at all. Keep in mind with this change you don't modify the camera itself just the screen and other parts.

That does look better. Does the night view look as good?

All depends on the lighting really. I thought it was better but night view still isn't that great honestly. But daytime is a huge difference. The map view and speed is also one of the main things I wanted to upgrade to. Working with Patryk the swap was very easy and his support was second to none!

I see you only have 5 posts so you can't PM yet. You need to go post elsewhere to get your count up then you can do so. I don't want to post a price in the forum as it could mislead others down the road. I know Patryk asks for information and sends a PM with the price in it and you are right, it really depends on what you want. there are a few options, sorry.

Parktronic BMW X6 CIC retrofit

Hi from Munich,

I have one big favour to ask you for.

I have retrofitted in my BMW X6 Modelyear 09/2009 CIC Navigation.

The Parktronic is not working. The programmer told me he has no idea. He told me that I need to have a new junction box.

Do you have any recommendation?
thank you so much.

Best regards,
G
