So I am now almost finished installing the M5 intakes along with the Ramair dry filters. everything is bolt on except obviously I've removed the airbox filter from the original M5 parts. My plan is to fabricate a channel to direct the air around the radiator (similar to the M5) and onwards to a heat shield to avoid heat soak.

The map sensors are also plug and play between applications, I've fitted new gasket seals and bolts just about everywhere for best practise. I can confirm that X6M PCV lines reach the the M5 intakes on the turbos perfectly except the short one on the left side of the manifold cover. A little fabrication of a smaller vacuum line is required... (nothing major) see pictures below

The biggest PITA at the minute is that I am trying to re-route all lines and wiring harnesses as much as possible to get a cleaner look ...

Yep sorry for the lack of pictures, I've moved most of the accessories to where the Cabin air filter is located behind the windshield panel. longer vacuum lines have been ran through and under the left fender. Since this picture I have moved some more stuff. My aim is to get the engine bay as clean as possible before I start to fabricate some custom pieces around the engine bay to hide empty voids and give the bay a more curved appearance, either welded aluminium panels painted along with the strut bars or maybe carbon fibre panels.

ATM we are making custom air channels which will channel air from around the radiator up to the Ramair filters which requires a custom heat shield trap / box. PITA as on both sides of the engines slightly different ares to build solutions around, one side houses the ABS box and the other side the coolant tank etc etc. am getting there though. pictures to follow soon.

Nice, I had that same setup before I made some cold air ones, but heat soak was so bad. I ended up making my own...

They would burn my hand before, so I added the gold tape, made a huge difference!

Good job, yep I followed your build a while back.

I致e found myself using the lower parts of the M5 air boxes with modification just to retain the tray and shape so that I can make a template from each side before I either cast them in carbon fibre or send them to my friend to make a copy from aluminium

Error code is 2C24 or P0040
O2 sensors swopped

I have modified the stock airbox to act as a intake scoop.
Works well IATs much lower
Working on 100mm intakes in those last pics just waiting on 100mm air filters

Quick question, where did you mount / locate your MAF sensors on the intake?
Thanks

Hi there, not sure what you mean? MAF sensors located on the intake and MAP sensors are located on the intercoolers...

X5M doesn't use MAF... it doesn't have MAF in the intake. I wasn't sure if you guys doing the swap of the turbo and intake manifold were doing that part too.

I think you guys are over exerting the need for cowals and getting colder air on to the filters. Although it would be nice to have but the slight difference in having them and not is not going to be a big issue as post turbo compression of the air will heat up the charged temps to a point where the colder inlet temp is negligible. Fear not as the post intercooler temps will be what we should be looking to drop. Usually it will be anywhere from 90 - 140 post intercooler temps.

Just did mine today, used 3.5" Airaid tubing, and K&N cone filters.

Hood closes with no issue.

Now I just need to make low profile scoops so at speed, fresh air rushes to the filters. Will be logging intake temps as it is now and then see if the scoops make a drastic difference. Will try to match the outside air temperature for both readings.
