Wow, the power from 2000 - 60000 rpm is scary. Under launch mode I can barely shift fast enough. Rom3n is great. ESS is super highly recommended. No problems, no bad codes, safe under 91 octane and I dig the flash loader which can reset everything to Factory. Rom3n tested his tune/my car for 2 full days on an AWD. He knows what he's doing. Looking for a High Speed run in the desert this weekend. Should be real fun.

is the tune altered depending on what fuel the car runs? I mean in US, EU and Asia fuels are different and in best world the tune would take this into consideration. what's the case with ESS?

I looooooove my 100RON catless ESS map on my X6M
Get it sideways regularly!!! You must know how daft it is seeing a truck sideways Feels quicker than my ESS VT2 M3 off the line Havent dynoed, but based on Hamann 650 conversion, I reckon im there already with catless headers and AJ's magic |

I will try to explain why I ask this question. When I do some upgrade to my Suabru I go to my tuner and we will map the car on a specific fuel that I will in most cases use. If later I use even another petrol company, fuel can be different and this could lead to richer/leaner fuel/air mixtures and potentialy cause problems. So when I purchase the ESS mapping kit and send you my original map, will you be able to see what fuel I use so the map is 'unique' to this fuel, or the map is universal for all X5/6Ms and the ECU itself alters engines work after the re-map? I hope I have explained my worry here Also, do ESS take into consideration exactly what aftermarket parts are installed, for example SS de-cat with Akrapovic EVO exhaust, or SS x-pipe with Eisenmann muffler and K&N filters, or you just look at whether the car is de-cat or not? thx beforehand for explanation Last edited by Iluxa; 03-25-2011 at 07:16 AM.. |

A big thanks to Roman and Crew at ESS!!!
Install was a breeze and Roman was more then helpful with all concerns and questions I had. I do think the ESS dyno sheet is VERY conservative. Because the gains in my truck were way beyond my expectations. drivability is just like stock, but when you drop the hammer, it just brings a smile to my face. Thanks again!

The tune and the Directflash hardware in general are superb. Allows great flexibility for future tunes and power gains from the comfort of your home. Doesn't get much better than that
