New Transmission question
It’s looking like I’ll be needing a new transmission for my e70 2009 X5 3.0. It has the GA6HP19Z and I was wondering if I needed to source one specifically from another same year x5?
It looks like a few other bmws used this trans and I was also wondering if anyone would know if I can get one that was in another bmw model. There are a bunch on eBay from other cars but specific x5 ones aren’t exactly everywhere. Thanks! |

What is going on with your transmission? Mechanics said I needed a new 6hp19 in my E90 and it was just $300 in solenoids. Transmissions from 2WD won't work for you. And transmissions from other cars will have different software. Unless something very odd failed, it is always cheaper and easier to fix yours in the car.

Yea, I replaced all the solenoids, mechatronics seals and torque converter as I was getting the 4F53 converter lockup code. Replaced it all and I’m still receiving the code so I’m thinking at this point it’s probably best to source another trans

is there chance you can put another mechatronic for a try? cause probably mechatronics is the problem itself.. it probably costs like $3-5k..
and for your question.. same model car or same part number from a different model is ok as well.. both will need recoding.. though probably xDrive 5-6-7 series has the same setup with minor changes according to engine power.. if i were you i d try to find a mechatronic first.. it probably ll solve the issue.. if i couldnt find i d contact with ZF and BMW at the same time.. good luck.. |
