Hey guys what's everyone getting on their fuel consumption and how are your driving habits. My bro just got the x6 week ago and is getting 10mpg seems a bit low.

my 2011 50i got 19.8 on the all highway drive from SC to SoFla. approx 700 miles. Now with mainly non hwy miles, I am at 13 mpg. ouch. but i expected this. the 2011 8 spd trans. got rated for 14/20 mpg...shows those figures on the sticker.

14/20 isn't too bad. But 13 avg. is a little rough unless you're really on the throttle all the time.

I heard that the 2011 X5 35i is rated at 17/25 ... which is pretty good! I wonder if the 2011 X6 35i is rated the same?

17 isn't too bad around town! ... the 2011 should do a little better with the new N55 engine and 8-speed transmission.

I have 19k miles on mine now and have consistently averaged 12.5-13.5mpg, I have a heavy foot but even when I have traded with my wife for a week she only got 13.5mpg. This is mixed city and tollroad.

Seeing about 10mpg for the few weeks is normal. I remember seeing this too in the beginning. Should improve some around 2,500-3,500 miles once the engine breaks in more.

With the spill in the Gulf of Mexico, consumption is going to be more of a concern again, because it's not the cost in dollars only. The cost in lost livelihood in fisheries, & tourism & obviously, enviro damage. IMO, 40 d engine is obviously necessary in North Am. market.

First post. Glad to be here!!!
I have about 2500 miles on my 2010 X6m and got about 13 mpg for first few tanks, mostly city driving, pretty aggressive.
Now I get about 15-16mpg, same, mostly city, pretty aggressive.
It seems I am getting about the same MPG as other models with less power. I am surprised. Must be the power to weight ratio thing.

1 U.S. Gal =3.7854 litres
1 Imperial Gal= 4.546 liters
Please qualify ur mileage based on US or English, or use metric.
w/ 85 Liter tank still does not offer much range.

Hey guys. I got my 2011 X6 35i last week in SC and drove it back to NJ(about 730 miles). I could not believe when I got home to see the car had averaged 24.7 mpg. The car is rated 17-25. After driving around town it is down to 22.5 and I am still very surprised. This new combo with the N55 engine and 8 speed trans is incredible. I will continue to monitor this with different gas stations and see which brand yields the best mpg. If anyone has a great experience with a certain gas brand please post it.

I've only managed 270km on my last tank with lots of traffic jam. I don't dare to take this car on a long trip cuz a little hiccup on the highways would translate into running to the station on foot.

I'm at 5500 ft. elevation. That's why I went with a turbo car/suv/whatever it is.
