X5M vs E63 wagon
Though I ended up buying an X5M ('12 loaded & 40,000 miles) I seriously considered an E63 Wagon too. I bought the X5M not only for it's better aesthetics but for more usability and bit more capacity (seating as well as cargo)
How would you guys rate the two? I was thinking about lowering it but kids don't even like the ride as it is so don't think I would do that at this time. Feedback? Last edited by quick; 02-16-2019 at 08:49 PM.. |

Used with 40-50 budget and with my research, one could easily pick up either a 2012/14 X5M or 2011/2013 E63 wagon

I don't know too much about them, but I think it's better looking, but I love wagons. Also, the interior is nicer and the engine, depending on the year, is known to be more robust...

Yes they are very rare cars and they do maintain their values too. However, on the inside they seem pretty small/narrower as compared to the X5M.
AMG's in general are great and fairly reliable cars. I have an '02 E55 as well and they are blast to drive with 350 hp/400 tq enough to put a big grin on your face every time you take it out for a spin |

I had the same consideration and ended up going with a 2013 X5M instead of the E63 for pretty much the same reasons you did(+wanting to tow). I will say, the AMG feels faster and a bit more raw. While the X5M is quick, the speed is so refined and you sit so much higher up it isn't as terrifying.

Since you already bought the X5M, asking opinions is kind of stupid.
Live with your decision. As for me, the wagon has more utility then a tall hatchback which is what the X5 are. |
