Reset clock for Brakes Pads

I've just purchased a second hand 2012 X5 xDrive35i. Melb, Australia
I'm pretty sure the front brakes and rotors have been changed when the roadworthy was done.
Seems they've forgotten to reset the computer as it thinks in 2200km the front brakes need doing.
I've scanned the internet to find a way to do a manual reset.. ignition on, then pressing and holding the button on the speedo left side to get the service program.
Every possible combination I've tried does not get the service program.

Can anyone help. Otherwise its a trip to BMW to get it done.

I just did this on my SD by turning accessories on until all dash lights came on then held dash button until oil light came on, press dash button until front brakes come up and hold until it says reset then press and hold to reset.

On my 2013 X5M, the brake service reset won't actually do anything until you've also replaced the brake pad wear sensor (if I recall, there's one on front left, and one on rear right).

i guess whoever replaced your brakes didn't replace the sensor. It is a dual-stage sensor, once stage 1 triggered, countdown starts(stage2 will trigger the brake warning light), brake service can't be reset without replacing the sensor

And those sensors are a small pain, as the wiring leads up into the area behind the plastics in the wheel well... got to dig to find the plug they connect to.
