Hello ,
I would like to upgrade my screen from the 8 inch to the 10, but i don't want all the other junk . I like the look of the new screens. Is there just a plug and play screen kit , with out android . Like this below.

Just get the screen option and don't use the Android side of things. It will function as OEM, just larger. I seldom use the Android side as the OS is still clunky on this device-not like my Note 9.

How is the clarity of the larger screen compared to the OEM? I've read mixed reviews that have mentioned the larger screen being pixelated when using the OEM interface.

Any idea if there is BT streaming functionality on this? I have the early gen CCC without it.

How much is just the screen as you say?

Based on another thread here, getting the new Android features working properly requires an advanced degree in computer science and even then it seems very flaky.

You buy the unit, but don't use the Android part. That's what I do. The Android has NBT EVO skin, but it's not great. That's why I just use OEM, and it's not pixelated, but the screen ratio is a bit off, not a big deal. BT phone pairing is better with OEM, really bad with Android.

Are you able to listen through the OEM’s Bluetooth music while having it on the Android screen for say maps? Or does it automatically switch audio over to the Android side when you switch to the Android display?

I don't have BT audio, so only 90% sure on this, but it's one or the other OEM or Android. That's for everything; audio, nav, etc. I really prefer the split screen with nav and audio info and that's not available with Android skin, that's another reason I just use OEM interface. If you're happy with you OEM operating system, then save yourself some money and don't get the upgrades with the screen, just use OEM OS and enjoy the larger display.

I do not have BT audio streaming on my 2010. I can be on the Android side and play from my HD, radio, or XM. Conversely, I can listen to the Android audio from the OEM screen through the AUX option.

8.1 version, all the same. There is now a new version 9 which actually appears to have a few hardware upgrades vs the 8 which offered nothing over my prior version 7.

Maybe a dumb question, but does your existing screen that's behind stay there or is there a trim piece that covers it? I just got a 2013 and was semi-interested in purchasing one.

I'm wondering what it looks like aesthetically, as I know they are trying to mimic the new F15 nav screen that comes out from the dash directly.
Thanks!

Thanks!

How are the pixels on the screen, is it pretty fluid like OEM one for F15 or is it not as sharp?

I got a quote for $1,600 for my car and I loose satellite radio unless I add an a unit to keep it. I just thought it was a bit pricey.

I have never thought I should go back to OEM after mine started flickering. It is not as crisp, similar to going from a 75" to 82" tv. You will not notice it after a short period of time - or care.

Awesome thank you. Where did you buy yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks!

I just can't justify spending $,1600 for this upgrade..

How do you forgo the Android options?

I want to use just the screen as I have the top down camera option and I don't think that's compatible won't the Android setup?

Read the instructions...

It loads in OEM by default, unless you set it to load in Android.

I have the Avin screen, which was around $700 with a bunch of options. If I were to buy again, then I wouldn't get all the options.

Which options don't you like, and why?

I like the Google maps options, leaps and bounds better than the OEM Navi.
